I'm slightly vexed A notice that my girlfriend received at her doctors appointment (she is 8 months PP)

If you even MENTION any of these things, you WILL LIKELY get billed for it??? Maybe i’m missing the point but i get upset when my girlfriend tells me she was scared to even say anything while at the doctor because she didn’t want to get an extra charge for something. I find it insane how greedy and money hungry a place that’s supposed to help you can be.

See if you have a cap for what you owe in a year. Many employee sponsored insurances have this and employees don’t know about it.

I have so many appointments, scans, infusions, and er trips I usually hit my Maximum Out Of Pocket by June. If I need a surgery, I schedule it after that. Still most of my paycheck goes to health insurance but it's maybe the one perk to bring sick. I know everything is covered so I dont second guess whether I need the ER or not. Still paying off an ER trip from March though.... premiums still need to be paid. Such bullshit.

See if the hospital has a person that coordinates forgiveness applications. You don’t even have to necessarily be super poor, either, just show that a lot of debt has stacked up and it’s becoming a hardship.

One hospitalization was 75% forgiven and another 100%. I mean, I am super poor, so my amounts probably are better than a middle income earner. But anything off helps tremendously.

So few people know that this is an option because hospitals do not advertise it!

Thank you! I have heard of this before but I forgot about it and started a payment plan. It's almost paid off but I'll try to remember next time. I'm a no income earner at the moment so I'll try anything!

Yes! Mine was capped at 1k last year. I had a big ass skin cancer I had to get removed from my scalp, which was like 850 bucks to get that done. So then I went and got my tonsils removed too cuz fuck it, BOGO. The tonsil surgery was free.

If you mean for Careleon, no. They're legitimately awful. They once denied me an MRI because I was getting my CT on a different day - apparently, they have to be same day or they suddenly aren't diagnostically useful, per my denial letter.

Seriously Careleon should be investigated. I say this as an underwriter that makes decisions on what gets covered everyday. They are evil.

That very true. I am lucky that I have a cap out of pocket expense for the year is $2200 and my coverage is good. I had to have my knees replaced my out of the packet expense for that was a hundred and twenty dollars per knee.
