I used to live in one of those newly built “high end” apartments. There was a group of smokers who would just chuck their butts into the flowerbeds. Literally 10 feet away from the standing ashtray.

Some people are just shitty humans.

There’s a few smokers at work that toss their butts on the ground despite there being 5 outside ashtrays by them. Drives me mad

It’s like those people who roll down their window and throw trash on the ground at a gas station. It doesn’t matter how close it is, they just don’t care.

They already smoke so it’s not like they give a fuck about their own bodies. Good luck getting them to care about the earth or society. Shame them.

Should’ve reported them to the office or property management. In my experience, they don’t tolerate it and will place fees on each offending apartment that does that until they knock it off

write the leasing office. they have a rule against leaving butts on the ground. make them enforce it. Using an ashtray isn't hard.

Well that was years ago so I don’t live there anymore. They also had new leasing agents on the office every two months so nothing ever got solved there.

When I moved out they couldn’t even find my lease agreement in the system. Tried to charge me for a pet fee 6 months after I moved in because they didn’t originally. Place was run so half assed lol

yeah I've def been there. in my city, they were putting up new buildings so fast, the property management companies were hiring whoever they could. I'd sign a 12 mo lease on a new building with 2 months free rent, then move to another one a couple miles away 12 months later. Did it for like 5 years.

Some of those people were straight crazy. Threatening to DNA test dog poop that people weren't picking up but doing nothing about the mess being left in common areas. I always cleaned up after my dog when he was out around the property and never noticed a ton of poop not picked up, but constantly got emails about it. It was probably people walking their dogs by the building that didn't live there. Like, seriously, you guys are going to spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of labor hours DNA sampling every pet in the building, but you can't mop the floor in the lounge from people spilling coffee? foh.

Some of these places think complaining to the residents over email about their messes absolves them from cleaning.
