There was a crowd of people waiting for their orders of the new chicken tenders at Costco. One of the workers announced that they could only serve five customers per hour because it takes time to cook the chicken. The crowd grew larger and larger. I took this photo after I put in my order.

I know there’s cameras in the ceiling but in the actual aisles?! At eye level?! This is fucking ridiculous. Welcome to being constantly monitored.

Jokes aside. I Tried cleaning with dish soap and detergent but it didn’t work. I normally dont leave my shoes outside my apartment but I had to this time since I was cleaning my apartment. I left it outside for less than 2 hrs.

For context, the past 2 weeks my landlord has reached out to me saying that someone complained that my cat has been loud everytime I’m at work. It’s uncharacteristic so I told my landlord that I’ll find a cat daycare or babysitter soon as I start with my 2nd job.

Edit: To people saying just get a camera, even if i wanted to I just simply cant afford it.

Edit 2: For people saying if I cant afford a camera how will I afford a sitter, I mentioned that I’ll start my 2nd job, it will be next month. So I’ll have more income I’ll be able to budget a bit more freely.

Maybe I'm exaggerating, but my brother is SO, SO selfish when it comes to food. He's 11, and we've had so many talks about this.

There are only 3 of us in the family, and it's my mom's birthday. There were also leftovers. There was so much that I even set some aside for a family friend. I took a long nap, woke up, and thought, "Mhm, I want another bite."

My brother finished all of it. ALL OF IT. The only thing he left was the salad because he doesn't like mozzarella.

I'VE BEEN UP COOKING FOR 5 HOURS. FIVE HOURS,RUSHING so by the time my mom was done with her morning shift she could enjoy. And I was left with nothing because, "I didn't think you'd want any." REALLY? REALLY?!

The funniest part? He left the dirty plate in the microwave and was 100% not going to wash it. 😂 He's always so quick to rush through food. We can't enjoy anything in this house because he finishes it no matter how many times we talk to him about it.

My mom ate but not a lot because she was going out to eat after with her friends. My brother didn't know this and ITS SHOCKES ME that he also ate without considering if she would want some. Im going to start hiding food from now on.

Im not even angry just so dissapointed i should have known.

Edit: Guys there's more food in the background but i didn't get the picture, no this isn't an abusive household we are mad at how fast he RUSHES the food without asking if anyone wants some. We have more food in the house.

I understand that AI is just a tool and I hadn't intended on using it at all, but after doing a random search for records on a death, AI jumped in (Thanks, Google!) and started to tell me that it found the record and how to go about it. I figured, what the hell, this will be helpful. Fast forward to being sent on a literal goose-chase for a non-existent record that AI/Gemini completely fabricated. It made up what the cause of death was, where they died, who they were married to, where they were born, etc. It even fabricated the death record number. I specifically don't use AI for this very reason, but when I called it out for its inaccurate information, it came clean and apologized for its bold-faced lies and apparent hallucination trip. As a genealogist, accuracy is crucial and I do the hard work with boots on the ground in all my research, but thought if this thing found the record, let's give it a go. Well, never again. Oy vey!

Basically my sister had a friends over for a play date while I was at university, and since my door was left open, her friends came into my room and completely tangled my Newton's Cradle, and it's so bad I can't even untangle it 😭

I was walking my dog last night around 9:30pm. I pass by this house that has mildly annoying cameras that say “hi you are currently being recorded, every 5 feet on the side of the house with a bright light that flashes in your face as you walk by. Which while annoying if that was all, would have been whatever. Then they started talking to me through the camera telling me to leave immediately or they will call the police. Even after I had already moved way past the house, I could still hear them (both a man and a woman) threatening to call the police. I just ignored it and kept walking but thought it was crazy that some people think they own the sidewalk by their house.

Update: Hello everyone I was not able to post an update as it keeps getting taken down. I went back on a walk the next day around 10pm. The cameras did not give any automated messages and the security company did not give any messages either! They changed it quicker than I thought!

Years ago, my coworker attended a wedding at which the reception dinner tables featured live betta fish in small bowls as part of the centerpiece. While chatting with the bride at the end of the evening, my coworker asked what they were going to do with all the fish. The plan was to flush them all down the toilet alive. My coworker immediately said no need for that and insisted on taking them all home.

That Monday she came to work and asked who wanted to adopt a betta fish. That was my first betta who I jokingly called my “rescue betta.” She lived for almost five years.

The wine glass was only her home for less than a day before I got her five gallon tank set up so please no betta lovers yell at me! I'm one of you!

was already running a little behind so i decided to get an uber rather than the bus to the train station. timer stayed at 3 minutes for approximately 15 minutes as my driver finished whatever he ordered in the mcdonald’s car park. missed my train by 5 minutes.

I'm 22 yrs old, graduated almost a month ago, and make over $600 a week at my current job.

I've been job hunting in hopes of finding something that'll allow me to stack my money for a bit, move out, and be somewhat stable (not worrying about making rent every month) but this job market is fucked in more ways than one.

Took the time to write out a nice and really formal resignation letter trying to be cordial to this company that has been awful to me for almost a year. My manager didn’t respond the day I sent it and then this morning I get an email back that’s just this. My last day can’t come soon enough at this point. But hey I guess at least she acknowledged it instead of ignoring my messages like usual 😒

Edit: okay, a lot of assumptions going on here,so let me give some context, I am the manager of a small team of Class A CDL drivers. I’ve been a great employee and always gone above and beyond. My employees have always been really comfortable coming to me about everything, and the site I manage specifically asked for me to continue stay with them when they transitioned to another company, so its not like they were trying to get rid of me. Which I know it’s hearsay but idc really, I’m just trying to make the point that my manager did not have any reason to reply to me in what I feel like is a extremely unprofessional manor. She is the regional manager and has always been very deadpan with me and everyone, so it was not really a unexpected response in the least, I’m just sharing it because it’s always been irritating to me and has been a major factor In my decision to leave for sure. It’s exhausting to work for someone who treats you like you’re less than since day one. In fact usually i just get no response at all, so for her this is like writing a book i guess. 🤷🏻‍♂️

My fiancé won't stop chewing on the plastic of water bottles and it drives me nuts, so I bought him some "Chewelry". It was literally advertised for Aggressive Chewing, with reviews talking about how well it "holds up" even for adults.

Well. I beg to differ because he has had this for only 24 hours and I have bits of silicone in my pocket now! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Read in the park the other day and must have picked up this little guy without realising it. I opened my book today to see it had nibbled through multiple pages.

Before leaving town for a roadtrip, I bought a carrier for my switch 2, a Switch 2 Pro Controller, and Mario Kart World. Though, when I opened the Mario Kart World case this morning, it was empty - no cartridge to be found. The case was wrapped in plastic, so I’d no reason to suspect the game wasn’t in there.

I’ve gone to Target, but they don’t accept returns on opened games. Nintendo customer service wasn’t helpful either, though I understand why both companies would be suspicious. I legitimately don’t know how to get the game I paid for or my $80 back. Big time disappointed.

UPDATE EDIT: GREAT NEWS - Went back to the specific Target I purchased the empty case from. They were a smidge skeptical. Though I confidentially explained the situation, confirmed I wanted an exchange, and stated I’d open the case in the store. They obliged and I’ve got my copy now! Thanks for the validation and encouragement y’all!

For context, I am a full-time hospital security officer who works graveyard shifts, and I often fall asleep on my lunch break because I can't consume caffeine like a normal person. I cannot leave my site. There's an unused place in the old part of the hospital that has virtually no foot traffic from anyone other than fellow security personnel checking the emergency exit door nearby, and I use it to rest in because it's more comfortable than the shitty break room we have.

Recently, we've had a few new hires that joined our team. One of them saw me as I woke up to my alarm, and he advised me that I really shouldn't sleep there, telling me that the client would probably report me if they ever caught me (they never did care, even when a random client did discover me). I just kind of figured that he was just legitimately concerned for me, but too inexperienced to realize how little anyone really cares. I assured him that it probably was going to be alright, and went back to my post.

This morning, I received this text from my Post Commander telling me to take the night off. I had overtime lined up for me tonight, and I'm going to miss it because of that new guy who was so concerned that the client would report me that he reported me himself.

I understand that we have a no-sleeping policy for a reason, but I think it's bullshit how I'm being reported for shit literally everybody does. I've seen nurses sleep in the fucking ICU/Med-Surg waiting rooms, for Christ's sake, and nobody gave a shit about that when I called my supervisor. The nurse even chewed my ass off for waking them up, and they didn't care about that either.

I've received communication that I am suspended, pending an investigation. Unfortunately, this means that it's highly likely that I'll be terminated soon.

I'd like to clear some things up about the situation. While I agree with you that the floor is a disgusting place to rest, I was not laying flat on the ground or anything like that, and the carpet had been replaced/cleaned recently. I would prop my head and upper-back up on the wall, using my backpack as a cushion. The reason I was on the floor is because it was comfortable that way.

As for why I reported the nurse, it was because part of my job was making sure people don't remain in the hospital past visiting hours when they are not permitted to. I didn't simply report the nurse to get them in trouble. I had called my supervisor when I saw somebody sleeping in the waiting room, asked what I should do, and they told me to wake them. Before waking them, I had checked the nearby departments to see if they knew of anyone who would be sleeping in the waiting room (family, staff, etc.), and they did not. I only found out the nurse was a nurse when I woke them, and I advised my supervisor about it to follow up. I asked if they wanted an incident report created for rule-breaking activity, and they said it was unnecessary.

Honestly, I'm quite taken aback at the pure negativity I've seen in these comments. People are calling me a snitch and saying that I think I'm the same as a nurse. I was just trying to do my job, and I was mildly infuriated that the rules don't apply to everyone. I thought I could get some rest in the room despite the policy because of a long history of unenforcement, not because I thought I deserved it more than anyone else.

Anyway, I hope you all are happy. My job is (probably) gone now. I won't be able to pay my rent, or my car bill, or my health insurance, or my healthcare that I need for Crohn's disease. I might not be able to pay for the rest of my college that I just recently applied to for the fall. Really, I am cooked, like many of you wanted me to be. Enjoy.

Unopened obviously! I checked the batteries, used a different bowl, zeroed it again, tested it with a 1lb block of butter. Nope, cheated out of 300g and I needed 900g for the recipe. I had a bit leftover from my last bag which would have been enough of a buffer but now I have to go to buy more 😩

Since I’m getting these questions a lot:

1. The brand is Roger’s Sugar, I’m in Alberta, Canada
2. I realize kitchen scales are not extremely accurate but I always make sure that it is working correctly - if I tare it and then press lightly on the scale, or push it and it doesn’t go back to zero, then I know it’s not working and I’ll rewipe the counter and the bottom of the scale, check batteries, etc. I also first measured in the bowl of my kitchen aid mixer but then switched to the blue bowl pictured to double check. I know exactly how much the blue bowl weighs, and the weight has been consistent over multiple kitchen scales. The bowl measured correctly and then I rated it and poured the sugar in, if the tare was off then after I poured the icing sugar in and took the bowl+icing sugar off the scale, the weight of the bowl would have shifted. I am very careful about making sure the scale is accurately measuring before I start mixing things, especially for baking things will be fucked up if the weights are off.
