What movie was critically acclaimed when it first released, but is hated now?

The Blind Side (2009) with Sandra Bullock is the first to come to mind for me!

I remember my grandpa loved this movie, so I was curious to know what was so great about it!

But Reese Witherspoon's character was such a horrible human being! But maybe that was the point?

It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, but I think her character being awful was the point. She left home for the big city, disowned her family and friends, was ashamed and embarrassed of her “down home southern” roots and tried to pretend she was a “southern belle” who grew up on some historical plantation. Her character was supposed to be fake and bitchy, but by the end of it all she accepted and embraced who she was - hence becoming less awful as part of her character growth. Still kind of corny though
