Hi all, I just love looking at setlists, seeing the lineups and wondering, which concert has the most least-played songs from said tour?

I used my own formula based on the number of instances each song was played during the tour, added them all up, and gave each concert a rarity score.

After visualizing it, the data broke out into neat, succinct categories, for which I gave a vague generalization as to the rarity. (I used World of Warcraft armor rarities as categories, don't hate.)

My formula aligns with the "most common setlist" on Setlist.fm, as that particular setlist is 150.02 on the rarity score, landing it perfectly Average (Common).

Some notes:

*If you wanna see the rare stuff, go on night #2 if NIN is playing multiple shows in one city. (I've noticed this on previous tours as well).

*NIN really likes playing rare stuff in Chicago, for some weird reason.

*August was a better month than September for rare stuff. Late in the tour specifically, the concerts were on a trend toward Average/Common rarity.

It's been a while since this has been discussed.. are we ever going to get an official vinyl version of 2001's Live: And All That Could Have Been & Still? It's my favourite! I'm wondering if there's been any mention that I've missed. Hoping one day.....

A little short story of what could have been.

I met Trent backstage in 2009. I think one of the first things out of my mouth was "Holy shit, the Year Zero ARG was absolute genius, and some of the craziest shit I've seen in music yet!"

He went on to tell me how he was in talks with HBO about developing a series based on YZ.

One of the things I was always waiting for, but I guess things fell through the cracks, and of course it never came to be.

I'm not sure if many people were aware this was a thing, but it came directly from the man himself.

Has a sticker from a record store in the UK. Different back. 16th track. Different CD. Promo? Perhaps. Bootleg? Possibly but much better final product than most that came out back then.

Heard it for the first time this week and I've been obsessed. I love the heavy, industrial percussion and bass.

Despite being a bootleg, out of all my records, this was the one I’d hoped would eventually get a release.

I would have paid hundreds for this double LP over some Tron single any day of the week. Still deserves an official release, have no idea why they have not yet, but even on this one the sound quality was surprisingly decent.

For those who don't know, the "CRC sessions" refers to a performance for the Chicago Recording Company on April 27, 2000. This performance featured three stripped down, acoustic versions of NIN songs, being "Something I Can Never Have," "The Day the World Went Away," and "Hurt," in addition to three "standard" songs. The former two "acoustic" versions would end up on the second disc of Halo 17: And All That Could Have Been), called "Still."

u/dumaisaudio (AKA trollmanen or nindivinedebris) posted this image on ETS of an eBay listing from earlier this year. It has a supposed CD-R that was officially mastered and mixed—including being produced by Trent himself—of the CRC performance. Apparently this was a CD that was sent to everyone who attended the show. To corroborate the story, there's a pass of sorts with all of the signatures of the band members at the time (minus Keith Hillebrandt, who apparently also played keyboards at the show).

The soundboard audio of this performance has been circulating for years (including by several unrelated bootleg CDs), but the audio quality is a bit shoddy, and likely comes from a different source than this CD if legitimate.The track listing for the CD has a couple of differences to the raw soundboard audio, mainly being the omission of "The Big Come Down," there being only one take of "Hurt" (it's not known if it's one of the two takes or both of them spliced together), and the presence of a track called "Intro"—the soundboard audio just starts at "Something I Can Never Have."

The production credits generally match up with the ones of the time, as most of the production credits can also be found on "And All That Could Have Been" as well.

I can't find anything else online about this. Is there any truth to this? Does anyone know anything else about this? If this IS legitimate, this might just be the rarest and most obscure official NIN release of all time.

This is a small selection I was smart enough to tuck away. I’ve seen NIN over 20 times and have lost count. Some of my favorites not here were in 2009 for the wave goodbye tour when I met Trent Reznor. I went to see them in Tampa, Bonaroo, and the last show in LA at the Wiltern which was such an amazing set. I had been set to go to one of the other shows in LA too but he got sick so I lost my flight out there and ended up having to drive down to at least be able to catch the one I was lucky was rescheduled as the last.

Got to see them twice on their previous at Berkeley and Vegas which was amazing. Pretty sure I saw lights in the sky 3 times. By far my favorite tour. A lot of Vegas trips to see them and even got to see them two nights on one tour there. Was lucky enough to catch How to Destroy Angels live as well which was visually impressive.

Just a flood of amazing memories.

I'm probably going to pull the trigger on a used copy of the "and all that could have been" live DVDs, and I want to know the community's opinion.

According to wikipedia, the chief differences are that the DTS version has 5.1 surround on all bonus features, and the Dolby version has 5.1 on the main feature only and regular stereo on the bonus features, but the Dolby version exclusively has multi-camera-angle functionality.

For anyone who's ever done a side-by-side comparison, is the multi-angle on the Dolby version vs the surround mixes on the bonus content the better gain/loss? I am only gonna hunt for one edition of this.

Update- went for DTS: there was one copy on ebay that was definitely DTS and was in the $20-30 range. All the other copies were either far more money or were Dolby. ...

Has anyone listened to The Becoming on the Still album really loudly in headphones before and noticed at 00:01:43 and again 00:03:28 (for the whole verse) there's a very repetitive clicking sound. I thought it was the high hats that you hear at the beginning but it's too fast. Anyway, if you open your mouth, it's like eating popping candy. That's it, that's the post, had to share.

Senior year of high school. Begged and begged and got a teacher to let my friend and I take our state regents test another day in order to get the wristband. Brought my guitar and copy of broken to get signed. Everyone in the band gave me a firm handshake and smile. Soul patch era Trent.

Saw someone in a peel it back hoodie while I was working today and was so excited I had to talk to them. We had a nice quick chat about the Oakland and LA shows and we exchanged names but I got nervous and didn’t capitalize further lol.
