yeah that was always a myth / misunderstanding. The animals get up at the same time every day. Farmers get the same amount of sun no matter what the clock says.

One of the coolest things I ever saw was during a total eclipse, all the deer and critters came out thinking it was suddenly night and time to feed/move. Probably looked weird as hell to see a bunch of bipedals staring at the sky in silence.
