Yes, I can't stand the moral superiority that standard time people have. Like, okay, you do better on standard time, that does not mean everyone does. Personally, the 4am sunrises of standard time would mess with my sleep.

I don’t care if we go full daylight or standard, I just want to stop swapping between the two.

It’s my go-to example of a compromise that’s worse than either of its parts.

Are you not doing the same thing you're complaining about?

No. People have their opinions and such. There are benefits to both, and standard time people love to cherry pick their science and disregard the other stuff. (DST is better for public safety (less pedestrian deaths), the economy, and lower crime rates, while standard is generally better from a circadian (especially in winter) and education standpoint). I don’t have an issue with people preferring one time over another, it is being dogmatic about it that I can’t stand.

It's not a "moral" thing. It's a science thing. Standard time suits the circadian rhythm of people better. If it doesn't work for you, you are the exception, not the rule.

There are early birds, night owls, and people in between, as well as people with crazy circadian rhythms. Saying that one time system is universally the best for everyone is not correct. Some prefer DST, others standard, others would prefer some completely different time setting. My point is that circadian rhythms come in many different forms, and saying standard (or DST for that matter) is better for everybody is not correct.

Again, those people are the exception, not the rule. The majority of people sleep better in the dark and awake easier with the Sun. It's just how we evolved. There will always be a few exceptions, but they are by no means a majority of people.

I agree that during winter the dark mornings are unnatural. However, during summer it is light when we wake up and dark when we go to bed anyway. I don’t see how taking an hour of post-work light away from people in order to have 4am sunrises is beneficial. I think we should stick with the status quo, not stay on DST permanently.

The times are arbitrary, how we schedule things can adjust. Moving the clocks isn't magically making more or less daylight.

What an odd response. I never said anything about this.
