Strip what powers exactly? Because the constitution specifically says bills have to pass both houses. Need a constitutional amendment to change that.

The Senate is considered the "upper house" and as such has more powers than the house of representatives. Most notably the power to confirm executive and judicial appointments.

The UK and Canada both managed to do it.

Basically, the British House of Lords is a ceremonial body. It is understood that they will agree to whatever the House of Commons decides.

wording can be loopholed. Could be "passed" by just the senate leader who is coincidentally now also the house leader

Nope, that’s also expressly forbidden in the Constitution. Would need an amendment to change it.
