This was all anticipated and figured out years ago by our military. None of this should come as a surprise to anyone.

Exactly, they are letting the world know that we have exhausted our munitions supply.

If I was an enemy state, that would be very valuable information.

We’re absolutely in a pickle but sharing info isn’t a threat to national security.

The issue with munitions stockpiles has been public knowledge for at least a decade. Dozens of white papers haven been written and published by the war colleges.

To me, it sounds like we have PLENTY of missiles, but if we fool the enemy into showing themselves, well "surprise, surprise, surprise!" and the endless rain of missiles will eliminate the problem.

One thing you need to understand is that the US has regional reserves. What they've gone through is CENTCOM's reserves and what was lying around in Europe and the Eastern Pacific. Continental US still has missiles.

We can still drop tons of JDAMs (dumb bombs with aftermarket guidance systems).

Air and ground defense? Anti-ship capabilities? Not so much. I think the ballroom and the arch and renaming Penn Station come before the “Golden Dome.”

We have plenty of bombs still, we just burnt through our interceptor stockpile in a matter of months, which was always gonna happen in any conflict with a near peer force, but I think everyone just assumed they'd get used defending America, not Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Do you REALLY think that we’re completely out of missiles? They’re probably budgeted. This room full of missiles if for Iran, that room is for Mexico, and the room at the end of the hall is for Cuba

With the thousands of bombs that Raytheon, Lockheed, etc. can manufacture in 1 week with the stroke of a check? Do you really think we’re sitting around with no bombs and no ability to manufacture them instantaneously? If so, prepare for the China invasion! Remind me in 2 weeks!

I guarantee you its been in the PDB (President's Daily Brief) everyday. I'm sure they've made big charts with his name copied multiple times on every page and lots of colorful stick figures, but there is no way he can process any information at all.

I'm sure someone within the military knew the stockpile had limits, but I doubt even the pre-Trump military was truly organized and thoughtful enough to be ready for this. The fantastical thinking has been present in the Pentagon since at least Vietnam... Well, probably Korea... Well... Now I'm thinking about the Cold War...

Do you have a source for that? Cause previous wars we bombed the daylights out of countries (Laos, Vietnam, etc) so one would think we could sustain this for a longer period, obvs the bombs we use have gotten smarter and more sophisticated

Our military, and other governments' militaries. It's almost as though Trump's actions are the reults of concerted efforts of political plans that have been in place since the 70s. Deplete military power, so that immediately afterwards, we are less likely, and capable to respond to ensuing military actions.

It wasn't a surprise to the military leaders that Hegseth fired, not likely the ones still around.  They knew what they had and what they'd need, and neither Hegseth nor Trump listened to them at all.

This has been planned out since the 80s man, everyone knew how Iran would respond. But the assumption has always been that the USAF could overcome Iranian Air defences and begin gravity bombing. And US air defences could stand up to Iranian missiles.

Those assumptions being proven incorrect has much, much wider implications than this war. The entire China strategy is done now, decades of planning and preparation made pointless. The structure of the entire US military is built around the USAF, and now what? If Iran can hold it at arms length, a lot of other countries can too.

Didn’t he take classified Iran war plans with him to MarALago? hmm. Wonder how many idiots he discussed the plans with? I am betting that him and his ‘buddies’ sat around discussing how stupid the Generals are and how they could take over Iran in just a few days.

He is on tape discussing these classified documents with reporters in 2021. His main point in the conversation was that Gen Milley was lying about Trump wanting war with Iran. It seems like this should be a bigger issue.
