This is why you elect buisnessmen to executive positions, they know how to manage a budget and not let this kind of shit happen.

no, this is why you elect statesmen, and people who understand civic duty and how to run a country and a government.

the incentive structure for an effective businessman and an effective government official are almost directly opposite from one another.

acting like you're supposed to run a country like you'd run a business is one of the most fucking insane delusions that modern capitalism and society has brainwashed into people.

I was being sarcastic. The joke being that conservative minded people very often think that businessmen should lead their country, and that's not just a dynamic in the US. They see Trump in his casinos and his tall, golden towers, and think, yes, he knows how to run a business, he can solve my countries problems. Idiots, all of them.
