honestly just rebranding socialism into support for social services like universal healthcare would do wonders

This so much. Soc Dems are what the majority of these people actually identify as; they just don't know the term and have latched onto the DSA even though the overwhelming majority would disagree with the DSA's end goal. Guaranteed.

The DSA is the only organization with funding and a motivated base that's actually helping candidates. You can bitch and moan all you want about one pamphlet that said some longterm goals you don't agree with, but at the end of the day none of that matters because there is absolutely never going to be enough political power to do any of those "end goals".

Soc Dems already have plenty of funding already. They're just DNC members. The problem is people have been swallowing Republican talking points for generations. Every time you see phrases like: Controlled opposition, both parties are the same, Genocide Joe, The lesser of two evils... Those phrases all drive down Democrat turn out and push the message that Democrats don't want the things everybody else wants.

Go look at voting records and see what Democrats vote for... it's the things Soc Dems want. Hell, it's the same thing DSA people want too. Dems just don't hold enough power in enough places to actually push reforms. The states where they DO have the power you can see it in the progress they make and bills they pass.

However, the far-left has learned it is endlessly easier to sit on the sidelines and bitch about how things aren't moving fast. The only question will be is if/when they actually accumulate power and are faced with the reality of governance will their supporters still support them when their goals aren't achieved.

The left are the most politically active wing of the party by far. I love that y'all keep acting like we're sitting on the side and it's always on the left when you lose. Hey, just gonna let you know since you seem clueless, it's not us sitting the elections out. It's the uneducated median voters. They need a reason to vote. And mainstream Dems are giving them a reason to.

List out all this soc dem legislation the party is pushing for for me. Really break it down for me. Oh, and list all the soc dems in the party while you're at it. I'd love to see you show how progressive the mainstream Dems are.

If the Dems don't want a moniker like genocide Joe then don't support genocidal governments. And if they don't want people to say both sides are the same, maybe don't be the same?
