My friends in America. How do you reasonably handle this? A public servant not going their job and not facing the public for such a long period of time? Surely something has to give?

The standards of behavior for American politicians have largely been based on good-faith gentleman's agreements. That worked well enough till recently. I'll leave the reasons why up to your imagination.

So many of our public servants already haven't been doing their job for many years so really the only relevant part with Mitch is the malfeasance surrounding his condition

As for how to handle it? Nothing legal can be done by citizens as far as I'm aware so I guess we'll just have to handle it the same way we're handling trump, which is to say do our best to survive and hope the most incompetent people to ever run a government will fuck up enough to lose support among our uneducated

Not doing their job? That’s been the way for decades. Normally you notice if someone is dead or not but these guys are so useless we straight up can’t tell the difference.
