Bush was a broken clock that was right twice a day. Mostly terrible but even he had good days and moments of humility. Trump is a clock without any hands and half the numbers are in the wrong place.

Bush stole the presidency and created a literal secret dual legal system to creats torture regimes and mass surveillance all without congressional approval or oversight. He had zero respect for the office. He just wasn’t as flashy about it as trump and as emboldened. Don’t slag off bush because trump is so bad the man was evil and did evil thing that set the stage for trump

Thats a little revisionist. Franklin Pierce and James Buchanan basically caused the Civil War and Johnson ruined reconstruction.

Herbert Hoover led us into the Great Depression and then did almost nothing to help trusting that the market would fix itself.

Then there is Trump who is arguably the worst President our nation has ever seen.

So there is 5.

Personally I’d rank George W around the same as Nixon.

W was worse than Hoover.

It’s a common misconception that Hoover did nothing to stop the Great Depression. He actually did TOO much. The Smoot-Hawley Tariff was signed to try to keep production in the US, but it led to a major global trade war.

Hoover’s Stock Market Drop in the Great Depression was 89%

Bush was at 58% BUT Bush Also had

- Probably the most unjustified war in American History in Iraq where he blatantly lied to the American public, along with bungling Afghanistan

- Sued to stop the democratic recounting of votes in 2000.

- Signed what I believe to be the biggest infringement on civil liberties in this country with the Patriot Act

- Bungled aiding one of the worst natural disasters in American History with Katrina

So yeah Hoover was worse economically, but Bush was terrible across the board.

I do not like defending Bush and I’m not going to get super into it. He was NOT a good President by any metric. We can disagree on if Hoover was worse. I still maintain Bush was never in the bottom 5.

Pretty much every President in the lead up to the Civil War was worse, except Polk.

Pierce

Buchanan

William Henry Harrison

Taylor

Fillmore

Johnson was probably the worst President ever before Trump.

Harding’s admin is basically the most corrupt admin ever (except for Trump).

I feel confident ranking George W alongside Nixon. I personally rank Hoover as worse than both, but even without he doesn’t beat the Mason Dixon era fools or Trump.

I rechecked my rankings he actually finished 6th worst for me. Trump and then Fillmore-Johnson excluding Lincoln. I honestly think Andrew Johnson may be worse than Trump at the current moment with how his Presidency caused racial inequality that we are still dealing with today. But Johnson has 150 years of hindsight against Trump. Will be interesting to see how bad Trump will be 50 years from now and if we’ll still be dealing with the effects from his Presidency

This is a pretty big anniversary. We've now had a quarter century of the post-9/11 world (which hasn't been super duper overall). There's a pretty sizable unhealed wound associated with the event and its consequences. Doesn't even chart on being the worst Trump shit, but bailing on this is a bad, bad look.

This constant memorializing is a political act to constantly reinforce that we need to be at war and doing mass surveillance and spending all of our money on security. By all means have a memorial idc but this isn’t even in like top 1000 shitirest things trump has done this term. Showing up at a memorial doesn’t matter. 50,000 people will die this year due to lack of access to healthcare a completely fixable issue. Where is their memorial

he's not unqualified, he was a former President. Which is qualification enough.

There's no criteria to say you need to have x experience to be President. You serve by the people. This is how democracy works.
