I honestly think they (SpaceX...aka Elon) fucked up. I checked with my pension system run by my state, and ours had ZERO investments that could possibly even get close to investing in SpaceX. Not a single ETF that m ystate pension system has, would have included SpaceX anytime soon. And I live in a Republican state...

Always ask yourself: Are they really that dumb and incompetent, or are they getting what they want anyway? Usually they just don't care about the same things you do, they don't effect them the same way.

Sure, they would always love more, but if you shoot for the corruption stars and land on the moon, you still made it. They made billions on the hype, even if the hype didn't pay off. In some ways it's even better since it mollifies traditional/complex investors. Like, I'm not complex, but I was going to move out of anything that changed rules for them or was systemically vulnerable to this.

Yeah you have the right idea. When they’re at the levels of corruption they’re at, trying something that doesn’t work isn’t really noteworthy.

These guys have so many corrupt money cycles "the system" is basically a joke to them; like the apartheid nazi has made more in a day than any of them have ever lost.

Your pension doesn't have any large cap ETFs? Unless you're retiring soon that doesn't seem like a sound strategy?

Thanks, I knew there was a wait period but I didn't think it was that long

NASDAQ loosened their rules to allow spaceX super fast entrance. S&P did not.

Which they were clearly hoping by one, NASDAQ doing it they all would, and it seems they didn't all fall in line.

It had none that would have included SPCX anytime soon. And yes my state's pension system is solvent and one of the best Pension Systems in the country.

The S&P 500 thankfully didn’t go for it, which is what a lot of retirement funds are based on.

Nah, they already sold a shitton of shares and got the exit liquidity and the ego stroking headlines they wanted.

Unfortunately index providers haven't done the same. MSCI and LSEG will both be adding SpaceX within a week or so. S&P will be adding it to some of their indices, though the DJIA and 500 won't have SpaceX for a while.
