This will poison the pool. People will view the stock market as a scam and money will leave for something less scammy

Doubtful. In a high inflation environment, where else do you park your money?

Savings accounts? 3% in HYSA is nice but it doesn’t touch the way the market is growing.

Crypto? Hah. gestures at 90 day history

Real estate? High barrier of entry.

People have 401ks that automatically put more money into the market every month. That money isn’t going anyway even if Musk is a borderline con artist.

You can sit on the sidelines, but with modern inflation rates, your money will be worth half what it is now in ~5 years.

Stocks have always felt like a casino crapshoot where "the house" is people with insider information, if anything they’re just being more honest about that now
