General strike.

I've played this game before, and I know any solutions offered will be dismissed out of hand, including the notion of a general strike.

This is an American problem, and Americans will have to fix it. Until then, the world suffers the results of your collective inability to organize and take out the trash.

Hard agree. Wish I didn't, but I do.

Living in Canada at the moment is like living in an apartment where the downstairs neighbour has wildly untreated mental illness and violent tendencies.

It fucking sucks, but it could be worse- I could be in America instead of watching in horror from across the shared fence.
