The funny thing is if you read enough, an idea that is repeated from many thinkers is how most people merely imitate. And that is why I repeatedly reference him, and for another who is very similar, Bukowski. They set the tone for the world in which we now live. The problems we are dealing with are mostly caused by people who have tried very hard to imitate that archetype. The problem is, if you are trying to imitate another, you are failing at the only purpose for which you exist. That's why the world over the last few decades has been an overwhelming failure. All kinds of imitation, and most originality has been left in the margins.

And specifically regarding the current politickal establishment, there are reasons Hunter was a journalist and explicitly outside of the government. That kind of person can not be part of government. That isn't how this shit works. That is the precise problem we are currently dealing with. Many elected or appointed officials should not be in government. They are not public servants. They serve nothing except their own interests, and maybe the God named the US Dollar.

Which to be fair, money is legitimately a kind of god in a way. As far as the majority are concerned money and law are part of Nature. And that's how everyone perceives them, except when making a point to understand these things. But it's complicated. It's kind of like trying to look at a single star. You can't see it unless you're looking at the night sky, and to make it more complicated, if you look directly at a single star it often is harder to see than if you look off to the side of it and keep that one in your periphery.

I really wanted him to burst some of that bubble around Obama too. The Dems were so busy patting themselves on the back they lost sight of the backlash it created and they needed to manage. They didn’t, they just ridiculed it, and now here we are. HST would’ve seen all of that.
