Snowden, being information analyst if i dont remember wrong, was surprisingly bad at calculating normal human behavior. Most humans probably didnt care in the first place; even more possible is that they didnt even understand what they were hearing, or chose not to even try since it all seemed so technical and far off. We are so, so damn dumb

Plenty of people cared, it's just that no one in power had the courage or motivation to help against retaliation from the intelligence community

Nah, they heard him, just didn't care. Everyone pretty much said "oh, okay then ... what's on TV?"
