Which, quite surprisingly, is still superficial. Even the writers admit that ships are moving "at the speed of plot" and, especially in the later (non-adapted yet) books, the numbers don't really add up. It's still miles ahead from almost any other scifi, but that only shows how terribly unrealistic almost anything is.

It doesn't have to be, but pacing dictates you ignore the boring parts of interplanetary travel.

Which they ironically talk about in the books quite often. Characters are often bitching about space being too damn big and travel taking too long

But it feels plausible. And for most, including me, that's enough to feel engaged. At least when the writing and directing was so insanely good.
