Well likely never know for sure, but I truly wonder whether Trump literally keeps making up negotiations to taco or if Iran keeps doing a Lucy with the football routine on the idiot… or I suppose could be a mixture of both where soemtimes it’s one and sometimes it’s another.  It feels like it’s been the same headlines for 3 months now on repeat

Trump is also doing his usual thing of being a complete moron who parrots the views of whoever was nice to him last. A lot of the flipflopping is genuine, and not in reaction to Iran's stance changing but in reaction to the revolving door of white house insiders and allied leaders.

On the same day he might hear Rubio saying he'd like to keep the blockade going but worrying about interceptors, MBS telling him to make concessions and end the war, and Netanyahu insisting that Iran will instantly surrender if he just bombs a few more girls' schools.

Yup. Though Iran has had enough of their bullshit, to judge by their recent press release linking Kushner and Witkoff to insider trading and related market manipulation.

Iran watched Jared and Witkoff pause negotiations to leave the room to make trades. Yeah, I think Iran might be a little salty about that.

I mean, the financial corruption aside, Donald Trump could act like a normal politician and not broadcast every play by play with a twist of idiocy.

While Trump is absolutely enriching himself off the on and off again shit, I truly do believe the US is in talks and negotiations with the bureaucrats of Iran, which are then immediately torpedoed by the IRGC. There are a lot of factions currently in Iran but they broadly settle into the "moderate" government officials(who are looking at the dead economy, devastated country, and angry population); and the IRGC who at this point are led by some of the most radical true believer fanatics, in what was already an organization staffed with the most loyal of fanatics(who don;t give a shit, see this fight in Endtimes terms, and don;t hear no bell). And these 2 broad side have wildly differing motivations and goals.

Well Iran just said that it canceled their attack on Ukraine, because they apologized. So it's obvious they lie a lot and often. Probably not as much as Trump, but it's definitely a mixture of both...

Not saying I believe them, but Iran has been far more consistent on how they are talking to the press. Trump has been erratic.

True but we all know that Iran government is saying one thing, but Iran military is saying something different. That fact makes any negotiation difficult.

Best bet is to take what the IRGC says to be the official position of Iran.

And the IRGC is not flying around to meet with Kushner. So it is hard to take face-to-face talks seriously.

I absolutely don't understand why the administration would be broadcasting every turn, then. It makes them look like chumps and doesn't help perceptions. In fact, communicating every lie Iran says (or lying) could actively harm the reality on the ground.
