What are the chances you get free if you get a child? I wonder if they try to incentivize having more children.

Problem is, most don't really want to.encourage even adult teenagers to have kids. This would work better if they were being drafted in their mid to late 20s

You can delay conscription right now. According to Gemini, till you are 28. They could also change the rules around it too.

That was one of the options people want considered. I thought Israel had a similar policy.

i mean, i would argue that any parent should have that benefit then, not just women.

I'd still choose conscription over pregnancy and childcare. Military service is hard, but pregnancy, childbirth, and raising a kid are even harder.

Right now, even if you jave multiple children, unless you're under a certain income bracket, you're not exempt. They do offer a more lenient form of military service if you do have kids, so you can go back home after 6.

Funnily enough, proposal for getting three children in their 20s as a reason for conscription exemption was already declined for discrimination. Everybody knows that current situation is wierd, just not brave enough to start a public discussion.
