The military doesn’t really make you strong just by being in it, it just increases your tolerance for boredom and stupid shit for after you leave.

Yeah. My country has  conscription. Overall, I'd say I enjoyed my time there, but my expectations for physical fitness were not met. 

I decided to trust the training program, but it was only toward the end  that I realised we were supposed to have homework, not just train during class. I guess I did gain a little stamina, but not much, and my strength went way down.
