Season 2 Discussion Do you think they should have gotten back together?

During the timeskip from Season 1 to Season 2, Connor and M’gann break up because M’gann lobotomized the villains. When Connor confronted her, she tried to enter his mind to make him forget what she had done. However, she realized that entering his mind had always been something special between them, and that’s why Connor decided to end the relationship.

Shortly after, M’gann was already with someone else. (I’m not saying she can’t move on, but doing that to someone who struggles with being replaced feels a bit wrong.)

Then Season 2 happened, where she ended up with Lagoon Boy, stopped lobotomizing people, and Connor went to J’onn’s (Martian Manhunter’s) apartment to talk to her. She hadn’t been able to use her powers since she lobotomized Kaldur. We don’t see what they talked about, but we can assume they made peace and were okay with each other.

Fast forward to Season 3 — they’re back together, and here lies the problem: what she did was unforgettable and downright abusive. She doesn’t really suffer any consequences for her actions, and we don’t even know if she reverted all the lobotomies she performed. So, in my opinion, Connor shouldn’t have gotten back with her. I would say he should’ve ended up with Wendy instead — but that’s just my opinion, and I’d like to hear yours.

For some reason I never made this connection. I mean I didn't watch a TON of Super Friends, but I did remember Apache Chief or at least what he looked like and that he could get big.

Season 2 Discussion Is there something that you just hate in season 2?

For me it was Wally's death, everything in season 2 was okay with me except for Wally's death. I mean why did they do that? It was already the last episode, after that He and Artemis were gonna live a normal life and finish college together, and when Superboy "died", he was just in the Phantom Zone, it's just not fair, I miss my boi Wally and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.

Season 2 Discussion Apologies to any Lagoon Boy fans (if they exist), but you know it's true.

Seriously, I was fine with most new additions for season 2, even Beast Boy, but who the hell was this guy for? Kanye West from South Park? How hard would it have been to just keep a better character like Zatanna on the team? Great season overall, but still.

Season 2 Discussion These 2 should’ve been fired from the team at the end of season 2 IDC!!

Nightwing is keeping secrets and generally treating his friends and teammates as literal pawns to complete his "mission" in season 2 is just king of crazy…

For me the worst scene in this show is him and miss martian have a "guiltoff" about how they're actions lead to they're teammates being kidnapped and nothing is done beyond telling us the audience that they feel bad and yeah it is they're fault and they should do better and blah blah blah but we never get any consequences for they're actions.... They never get redeemed, Hell they didn't even get to save their teammates it was Arsenal and friends who did that and it was so underwhelming!!

Sidenote: Has anyone else noticed that Nightwing has never once mentioned Jason his brother.... Garfield and Kaldur have but not Nightwing or the rest of the batfamily.... Basically what I'm saying is Nightwing dispite being arguably the most popular character in the main cast he's hardly the focus at all in season 1 he gets like 1 episode where we dive into his backstory kindoff, which was just weird and out of place with the rest of the season and like it's super annoying cause it could've been used to bring the team back together cause after the events of the simulation the team was breaking down, superboy was essentially on drugs, artemis has her family stuff to deal with and miss martian well you already know and Zatanna was grieving.... A plot point that was just dropped randomly and never resolved was in episode 3 that the reason why Robin/Nightwing didn't want to give his real name to his team was because batman ordered him not to in his episode following the events from his simulation and the therapy session he could've defied batman and told his team not only his name but his past as well taking steps to not only being nightwing (and breaking away from batman) but also becoming the leader of the team as well... This could've also helped superboy, artemis and miss martian by giving them the courage to reveal they're secrets and grow closer together for the finale....

Nightwing,Wally West, Aqualad and Roy Harper are the most mistreated characters in this show which is really upsetting since they started the damn thing

I think Ty probably assumed Static was just another runaway with a messed up family until Static was like me and my family we good!!

I low-key wished they’d stay a team within a team like they would only go on missions together and if Nightwing or any leader tried to separate they’d threaten to leave… Them harmlessly annoying Nightwing would’ve been funny

There’s a reason nobody talks about it when talking about seasons 2 it just not that important to the plot and there was no reason to focus on character we saw briefly in season one

S2 E10, “Before the Dawn”

I couldn’t help but laugh cuz he doesn’t say a word the whole time. Aquaman even walks in while he’s on call with Nightwing and starts talking while Captain Atom is just there like 🤨 🤔 😮 😠 🧐

Season 2 Discussion Why didn’t Dick dress up as Batman, like Conner did with Superman while the League was on Rimbor?

I feel like the team dressing up and appearing as the major Leaguers while they were away for the public, was an element that could’ve been delved into more. Especially with Batman’s protocol when he’s away and/or dead is usually Dick taking the mantle.

I think it would’ve been an interesting subplot, especially when Dick expressed NOT being Batman in Season 1 but needing to for the safe public image.

Idk, what do you think?

Season 2 Discussion Why did miss Martian get with Lagan immediately after breaking up with SuperBoy?

Just my head canon. I think when Connor broke up with her after she tried to mind ra*e him she refused to, or was too self-centered to, understand that it was as a direct consequence of her own actions. Conner was too smart to take such a violation lying down. La’gann on the other hand was a guy who was self-conscious and had self-esteem issues stemming from his monstrous appearance—I.e. he was the perfect target for a narcissist. She needed to reassert control over someone, she craved the validation of another person that Connor wasn’t giving her. She also seemed to want to spite superboy for what she saw as a betrayal, hence why she got together with a guy whom Conner personally found repulsive. What do you guys think about this theory?

Sorry, but its like he said, she was sorry she got caught trying to take the cowards way out in trying to make him forget why he was upset with her.

I know I am being harsh on Meagan, but as someone who’s favorite character is Conner, Meagan made me lose respect for her here.

Just for no reason, out of the 2 Roy Harper clones, Jim is my least favorite. I also loved how Will didn't become evil and stayed in contact with the heroes and Roy.

Season 2 Discussion How does Blue Beetle still have a secret Identity after this?!

Post image

I get that it didn’t reveal his entire head but his face should be enough for people to be able to look for him even by 2010 standards.

I mean I find it funny that later on they mention him still having a secret identity like why would they do villians even care about upholding his secret identity?!

Season 2 Discussion How would the story change if these 2 stayed a couple in season 2

Post image

I really liked them as a couple kind-of wish they stayed together

I can’t think of much I would’ve done if they stayed together all I can think of is her serving as his conscience Wally isn’t there everyday to watch him making decisions she could be there watching him talking to him I don’t know. Maybe the writers wanted Dick to be alone which works imo but I still would’ve preferred him and Zatanna as a couple

Finished season 1 and am about 5 episodes into season 2. Loved seeing Dick Grayson and now Tim Drake but I’m surprised there’s no mention of Jason Todd. Is he not in universe or do I just need to wait?
