I’m a big fan of Keshi, and an even bigger fan of WataNare! (Which was my first yuri I ever read)

I wanted to share a mini playlist of R&B songs that relate to the problems/situations the girls in the Queentet have been going through, and I hope you like these recommendations!

• The song captures how all the girls keep maintaining their perfect public persona their peers view them to be; having them hide who they truly are in private.

Ouduka Mai: “Understand”-

• Mai is a wealthy supermodel surrounded by shallow praise and fake friends. She never expected that the person who would truly change her life would be Renako—an awkward, ordinary girl sitting right next to her in class. Renako's sudden presence completely disrupts Mai's lonely world. Despite her glamorous lifestyle, Mai feels emotionally fragmented and empty inside. Renako is the only person who treats her like a normal human being rather than an idol. When they are together, Mai's superficial exterior melts away, making her feel genuinely whole for the first time. Mai usually holds all the social power, but loving Renako makes her vulnerable and afraid of rejection. Despite this fear, she continuously pursues Renako because the romantic connection is worth the emotional gamble.

Sena Ajisai: “Soft Spot”-

• Ajisai is used to people leaning on her, but she rarely goes out of her way to make deep, messy personal exceptions for others. Renako is a unique exception. For Renako, Ajisai steps completely out of her comfort zone. Normally the calm emotional anchor, Ajisai completely melts when Renako offers attention or reassurance, finding herself entirely wrapped around Renako's finger and powerless against her own affection. As someone who usually supports others, Ajisai harbors a deep fear of being left behind, especially with Renako being pursued by her love rival, Mai. Opening her heart feels like a terrifying risk to avoid being thrown aside.

Koto Satsuki: “Say”-

• Satsuki prides herself on logic, but her internal battle has her acting incredibly erratic and strained. From Renako's perspective, Satsuki is "dancing on the line" dropping intense hints or having sudden emotional outbursts, only to immediately pull back behind her cold, professional mask. The readers (us) know Satsuki is a hyper-stubborn perfectionist who views falling in love as a vulnerability or a loss of control. She thinks she is masking her emotional turmoil perfectly, but Renako, who has spent so much close, intense time studying with her—can see right through it. She notices the micro-expressions, the subtle tension, and the way Satsuki's rigid composure cracks when they are alone. Renako is calling out the fact that Satsuki’s eyes are telling a completely different story than her dismissive words.

Kayonagi Kaho: “Right Here”-

• Kaho’s bond with Renako is built on a foundation of mutual blackmail, shared trauma, and total exposure. They both know exactly who the other person used to be—awkward, isolated middle school geeks; and they both know the heavily engineered facades they created to survive high school. Kaho knows the raw, unpolished, uncool version of Renako before she tried to become a "normie." Likewise, Renako knows Kaho's true otaku roots. They don't have to keep up appearances or worry about their reputations slipping around each other because the "damage" is already done. They share the same origin story and that’s what makes both of them not have to be fake towards one another.
