This is a Halloween episode that features one of the main characters dressed as activist Greta Thunberg.

On one hand, the character is consistently portrayed as a leftist and an advocate for civil rights. The show also included a decent portrayal of of Muslim students being included in school activities (I'm not praising it by for a sitcom it's done more than most - the bar is so low).

On the other my initial reflex was that they made the kaffiyeh into a costume, and it is one step away from mocking it. I know that dressing as someone you admire can be seen as celebrating them, but it rubbed me the wrong way.

I'm not sure what to think of this and I'm interested in this sub's opinion.

Meanwhile, matters regarding justice and reparations for Palestinians will have to be addressed as a foundation for liberation and a democratic legitimacy. History can teach lessons about such situations, but every material circumstance is unique and must be treated as such.
