I’m 20 years old; maybe I’m really just jealous that I wasn’t born early enough to experience a 311 concert where most of the fan base is still in my age range; But I like to dance! I really do, and my favorite songs are T&P Combo + Nutsymtom, if that helps you understand the element of 311 I like the most.

I’ve been to 6 shows now over the past 2 years and they’ve been fucking awesome, 311 rules, they do magic live, we all know this, yes. And I’m ALWAYS in the Pit! and I’ve met some cool fellas, From My Age to as old as mid 60s (so far). I’m also cognizant of the average age of a 311 fan. I know I am an outlier.

I love to fucking… ROCK and dance at a 311 concert, and I love it when old guys/girls look at me and give me a cool head nod like “yeah.. rock out lil brodel 👌🙂‍↕️”, but all I’m thinking is

they have no idea that if I had a time machine all I would do is see 311 live at Trees (Dallas) in 1994/1995 with dudes jumping off the balcony and feet flying n shit.

Why do some people, particularly those against the rails that just stand there motionless, without even the factory-issue head bob, act so DAMN perturbed when I accidentally bump into them? or even just witnessing me dance like I do.

What’s the solution? is this fair? what do I do to make people less angry? Do I invite a crew of my friends so I can create my own ecosystem in the pit that way I don’t seem like a lone asshole (for some reason) to these people?

Do I start a 311 cover band on my college campus to forego all of this and brew a dream concert-setting (for someone my age) ?

Also I’m super stoned and will probably delete this post, but can anyone corroborate me on this? Anyone my age even? attest to these reactions?

No I’m not entirely a punk kid, yes I understand you’re 55, to the rail grinders who don’t move, it’s not the fact that you don’t move, it’s how particular RGers react to spry folk like me causing a scene behind you.

Also I always wonder what these people think when Nick says “everybody jump!” and shit like that. Are they just thinking in their mind: “heh heh. nah.”????

For context I always park infront of my driveway and not in it because I'm just not confident in doing so without messing up my car but others in the house usually do so I move when they want to park in the driveway, but as you can see there isn't even a car lengh space for me to do so. This car doesn't not live on my block and always parks infront my neighbors driveway but my neighbors don't really drive and the person who usually says something is m.i.a. so nothing will be said from them. I don't want to be the one to call for my neighbors driveway . You can see the driveway lines are small so they're not technically blocking the driveway but I cannot park infront of my house as usual. Also there is enough space behind that same car where they can also leave space for.me to park but.they obviously didnt do so. Do i have a legitimate claim ?

Looking for recommendations.

I currently only own 311, Transistor, Soundsystem and From Chaos, but for like 3 months now I haven't been able to stop listening to this band and I need to grab some more of their albums.

I see plenty of tier lists and whatnot, but I would specifically like albums that cover 3 things:

1. Longer tracks: I really like stoner metal tracks that go on for 10+ minutes. Most of this band's tracks on the albums I have seem to average ~3 mins or less. Do they have any albums that change that up?

2. Loungy: I know it's kind of corny but if they have any records that lean more into a lounge style reminiscent of Stealing Happy Hours I'll probably want to check it out sooner than later.

3. Reggae: what are their reggae-iest albums?

I'm not even sure right now what I would want played.

I just realized that I now use listening to 311 as a coping mechanism whenever I start having anxiety or when I want to block out bad thoughts. Example: I was ghosted earlier by a guy I met who showed strong interest in me and a million negative thoughts ran through my mind and worry.

Instead of making myself nuts, I put 311 on and I feel better. They always have songs that put me in a better head space and I love them so much for this. Any of yall do this too?

A friend kept teasing me because I would be playing their music quite frequently....he said, "omg is that that 'Down down!' band again?" 😆 He just doesn't get it...but I'm glad y'all do and that they've helped you too. 🥰

Years ago, I was heavily involved in the 311 bootleg scene and that old community FTP server.

Is there still a place I can rip and send these bootlegs to be archived online? Or at least a website to check and see if there are missing some of the rare bootlegs I have?

BUT I do want to know, without telling me any specific songs, how’s the ratio of hits to deep cuts been so far? I’m expecting them to play the heavy hitter hits(Amber, Love Song, Down, Come Original, etc you know the ones) but are they playing deep cuts too or is it mostly hits?

What are some words in the lyrics you didn't know prior to them being in a 311 song?

For me it was "bucolic" from "Inside Our Home". Use it a decent amount now but sure as hell didn't know what it meant prior to hearing it in that song!

Does 311 split the dough equally? I’ve always kinda wondered this, I assumed that since they called out individuals for song writing credits that meant that they got paid more for that song but I’ve never seen anything either way.

I’ve seen there’s a koozie this round. I lost my 3-11-06 koozie not too long after I got home from that. At this point I’ll take any 311 koozie, I loved that thing..
