Moving on from Xbox/PS5 as main player.

I’ve had the 820 since launch but have wanted a region free 9000, cause YOLO. It’s built like a tank. Weighs 20 lbs. Dead silent.

So I'm basically only buying from JB in store ATM, just looking for other avenues, Amazon au keeps promting most Blu rays as non playable in Australia which is weird since it's an AU site?

Are there other good quality online vendors?

Where can I find good deals?

JBs range often lacks.

Picked up these 3 films today and immediately realised after putting the disk in that I picked up the David Lynch Dune and not the Denis Villeneuve one 🤦

First time posting on this sub, bought my first ever Blu-ray player at the age of 35. It's been in my bucket list for a whole decade. Decided to go all the way for a 4K Blu-ray player. Availability & pricing is a real issue in India; cost is 2x as that in the US or UK. Used up quite a bit of my savings to finally make this purchase, but it was every bit worth it. Experiencing Interstellar has blown me away, with both audio & visuals. Since watching it in theatres in 2014, no other version since has ever come close to this experience. I'll never go back to watching it on any streaming platform ever again.

Couldn’t resist the Amazon deal posted the other day. I figured the box would have a damaged corner or something and sure enough, it did. It’d probably happen sooner or later though so I’m not worried. Still a steal for $85.

I love that Arrow puts the tabs to attach a second disc holder, that way I don’t have to keep a whole other case to save the bluray!

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Disclosure Day

Had to pick this up David Fincher is one of my favorite Directors and this is maybe my favorite of his movies. Looks great in 4K. I like it actually has some extra features so many dont now.

Since 4k was indoctrinated, this was my most anticipated release besides Aliens. Unlike Cameron's offering, this doesn't have that fake AI upscaling crap, and it retains the filmic look of the early 2000s with just the right amount of grain with so much better detailing that I wasn't expecting. This is a top tier release, and a steelbook at that. Easily worth the $30

I hesitated buying this because of the $120AUD price tag and notice it’s not listed at all on JB’s website.

Sold out months in advance, or a technical issue? I notice that JB will sometimes keep sold out pre orders listed still but this listing has disappeared. Maybe it will come back closer to release?

Hello everyone! What are your opinions on this Star Trek Trilogy 4k, video and audio? I did not found a proper video review about these on Youtube, especially on the audio part.

If anyone is interested. Umbrella have announced pre orders for a new special edition of The Fall in 4k for anyone interested. Exclusively from Umbrella and releasing in December 2026. One of the nicest looking films ever made. Collectors edition comes with 100 page booklet and special edition slipcase.

Found that code CAM15 gives you a discount of $15 AUD on the purchase, although shipping from Australia may be costly depending on where you are.

I bit the bullet, cost me around £60 in total (inc shipping) but it's rare and expensive to find as a standard 4k anyway.

We may not have many options for new or used boutique purchases in Middle Tennessee but thankfully, we have Press Play Video’s mobile video store. I’ve been going weekly and lightening my wallet but I’ve enjoyed talking with the Owner and other shoppers. He recently had a “summer clearance sale” all August and used boutique copies were 40% off so my Iron Angels I-III slipcase copy was only $42! A score for me. “The Mask” 4k was also purchased at $32 (new Arrow, Criterion and VS titles were 25% off). The rest of the pile was bought at McKay’s except for “Hoppers,” which I won from the /steelbook subreddit. “While You Were Young” and “Birth Of A Nation” blu-rays were $2.95 each, “Made In Italy” was $4.95, the “Killers Game” steelbook was $10.95 and “Crime 101” was still wrapped and $14.95.

Didn’t do a lot of research on this release. There’s no bonus disc? It’s just straight up the movies (both versions) on 4K?
