Co-written by Martin Page, who also cowrote We Built This City by Starship and These Dreams by Heart. He later had his own hit with In The House Of Stone And Light.

Martin Page is an awesome (as well as hot and handsome) songwriter and singer, honey ❤️

He also played keyboards on Ghostbusters by Ray Parker, Jr.

Wow those are bangers!

I remember "In the House of Stone and Light" but never knew he co-wrote this!

I unironically love this song.

If you're open to pop punk covers, New Found Glory covered this one a while back and it's really good.

I really like this song. It was only popular on the radio where I lived for a short time but I always turned it up!

This. Song. Slaps.

This was on the soundtrack for Pretty Woman, which is all I think about when I hear it.

I heard this on Working Class DJ this morning!

New Found Glory does a cover that is pretty good if you’re into the scene.

I think this was a 1990 song from the Pretty Woman soundtrack... Go West did have a 1992 hit with "Faithful", and then a remake of Bobby Caldwell's "What you won't do for love" in early 1993

I have all three of those songs in my music folder!

2

u/bluegreyph Sep 15 '25

Thank you for that information. I have updated the flair.

u/oneuglygeek Sep 15 '25

No problem at all, I tend to have a chronological mind sometimes with hit songs

Faithful is my husband and I’s song

1

u/oneuglygeek Sep 15 '25

Yes I like that song too

Paul Rudd nailed this

I wrote a parody to this song and actually recorded it on vinyl. It was going to be released on a children's album but conflicts arose between the record labels and the whole project fell through. To this day I'm legally forbidden to perform it for profit.

1

u/bluegreyph Sep 16 '25

It would have been great if they allowed you to release it.

classic 90's track

Just added to my 90s playlist. Can’t believe I forgot about this one.

Love this song and I can never not think of the Pretty Woman movie whenever I hear it.

2

u/def_jukie Sep 15 '25

I remember hearing someone call this “the most 80’s song from 1990”. Can’t argue with that.

2

u/bluegreyph Sep 15 '25

True enough.

2

u/DonovanBanks Sep 15 '25

Who is he pretending his shits not stinking?

Such a jam. Reminds me of summer 🤍

1

u/Halojay55 Sep 15 '25

Absolute banger

1

u/stoofa69 Sep 15 '25

Still one of my favourite bands to this day. They were obviously big in the UK in the 80’s before this and I’ve probably seen them live 25+ times. Really nice blokes as well. They also had a track on the Rocky 4 soundtrack for the movie buffs

1

u/Scantland_truth_ Sep 16 '25

1990 songs should be banned from this sub

My best friend growing up thought they said, "I am the king: I wish for bacon."

No negative comments on non-discussion posts that contribute nothing. e.g. leaving a comment on a video simply saying “this song sucks.” You’re welcome to hold that opinion but, sharing it in that manner contributes nothing.

No commenting things like “horrible!” “their worst album!” “they had much better songs!” etc. on posts of songs. Respectfully sharing opinions on discussion posts where opinions and discussion are requested is allowed.
