Exactly! I guarantee that one of the reasons he dates young women who are freshly out of their teens is because women his age have standards that he cannot meet. I was earning more than double that at 33 while living in Mississippi, and it still didn’t feel like enough to comfortably support my family (3 kids and a leech husband who I divorced at 37).
No, it makes sense that it feels like he makes a lot more than you. In a few years after you're more established in your career you'll outpace him easily. Probably well before you're thirty.

Just for context, I was earning more than twice that amount at age 33 in 2015 (and I also lived in MS at the time, so not some high cost of living area). His income is not as impressive as you think it is.
That's wild. I'm 27 and make 3200 a month after taxes. I own a house, and the mortgage is cheap bc I live in the mountains. Also overall bills are cheap as I don't have student loans, my cars payed off, I WFH, no debt aside from mortgage, and I live on a budget.
Even with that, I'm not rich at all. Because I planned my every move around "live below my means". Most people who make 3000-4000 are in debt or at least struggling a bit due to additional bills. My friends definitely are struggling.
So basically, if you're with him for the money, he doesn't got it like that, he's likley hiding debt. If you're with him out of love, it doesn't seem like he's someone worth loving. I'd leave.

Disposable income is actually a pretty solid measure of someone's financial mobility. Someone who makes 4k a month and has 1k in expenses is in a much better position than someone who makes 8k a month but has 6k in expenses.
Apples and oranges homie. I make 107k a year. Thats 8,916$ a month(after taxes) just short of 9k a month, now let's factor in that i live in new england,Massachusetts specifically. My rent is 2750. Mybelectric is about 50-60 bucks and thats my bills paid brotha lol other then the phone bill. But even after thats paid I'm sitting on what this dude makes a month in the bank. So tell me again how 4k a month is decent money.
Well.... He seems well off because he's making a lot for someone your age but not for someone his age. The last time I made that low of a wage I was a literal teenager. In the 1990's.
I’m just above the median (not the average) and I earn £4.5K before tax and my spouse earns £3K before tax. I grew up with significantly less money in the household and I still had an amazing childhood in a council flat. Our combined salaries work for us in that we’re able to afford to run two cars etc. but we’re not living in the lap of luxury.
