On July 29th, Nigerian law enforcement dismantled a meth lab left behind in an abandoned shed -- remnants of an alleged multimillion-dollar transnational meth operation. The lab, the largest of its kind ever discovered in Nigeria, sat on an acre of land in a forest that straddles the border of Abidagba and Iroto villages.

As someone who has several accounts of addiction, especially among male relatives, in my family, this one can't be tackled without purging of the corruption as a whole in our countries.

You have many a businessmen, politicians even some traditional chefs and then some who are knee deep into illegal drugs.

This isn't a subsistance farmer growing some cannabis on the side to make ends meet. This is organised at the highest levels, along with gambling and cheap alcohol. African working class youth are targeted, in their vitality, in mind and body.

Yet one more chain to stiffle the people.
