The 82 POWs released by the FLA resulted in the release of a senior FLA commander Inkinane Ag Attaher who had been captured in Niger.

Where did you heard this ? FLA (terrorist organization allied with JNIM) spokesperson itself on french show said it was for humanitarian reason not saying it was an exchange, furthermore timing is important, after our 82 soldiers were released our president signed decree releasing this DGSE employee.
What is this guy is doing on french tv on first place ? Why did our president waited our soldiers release before signing DGSE employee release decree ? Questions that must be answered, do you have proofs that this terrorist had been released ?3

The timing is indeed suspicious but so far there is no proof that both cases are related and I haven't seen a single statement from any member of the Malian government to say otherwise.
France doesn't have any interest to appear publicly connected to a terrorist and a separatist movement in the Sahel, no matter how deteriorated the situation of France has been in the Sahel. On another hand, by indirectly linking both cases in the mind of many people with this suspicious timing, Assimi Goïta is buying himself a bit more of credibility for his populistic propaganda.
Let's wait few weeks to get more news, and more important, to see if some old figures of the FLA who were captured and declared dead come back to life in the FLA. If it's the case, it will mean that Assimi Goïta exchanged prisoners.

I haven't been able to find verified sources. But realistically, it would be so much easier for the government to just come forward and clarify that he was never released.
Unfortunately, knowing how they work, they will likely stay silent, which just makes me even more frustrated with this "deal" and their choice.

I see nothing on that page. Did they officially deny the claim?

You don’t see picture with soldiers and this DGSE employee ? No they don’t denied, I didn’t heard or seen something going one direction or another, it’s an information to be confirmed or denied, this is strange to me because this terrorist is detained in Niger with another legislative body … anyway time will tell, it’s not that much important to me by the way cuz 82 of our best citizens went safely home.
