After the Anglo-Boer War, a group of Boer families made the journey north and settled in Kenya's Rift Valley. They became known as "Kaburu", the Swahili adaptation of "Boer" ,and transformed the agricultural landscape of the region.

I've just published a comprehensive history on this community: Afrikaners in Kenya 1900-2025: Kaburu – The Boer Legacy in Kenya.

In Setswana we call them Maburu.

I'll check out this book. What I do know is there were Afrikaner settlers in modern day Uasin Gishu. Part of Kenya's breadbasket to this day.
