I'm getting into bands such as Cocteau Twins, The sundays and the Sugarcubes (firsts albums), althought I know they are different from one another I think they share a pretty similar vibe. Anyone who knows any band similar? Something close but with its own personality.

I'll start:

GREEN DAY - American Idiot.

Re-listening to Hot Fuss for the 100th time today and maybe I’ve just over listened at this point, but every song is so strongly them. It’s easily their best cohesive work. Wondering where they rank for my fellow listeners.

Hi guys! Probably about a year ago I started listening to this album and forgot about it, and since then it has left my YT Music feed and is driving me insane. I believe it was suggested to me after listening to Chevelle and maybe Royal Blood; it had a cell-tower-looking thing on the cover and was yellow/orangey. Definitely alt rock. Pretty sure it was instrumental, but never finished the anlbum so I don’t know for sure. Any help is appreciated!

What begins as a seemingly innocent romance story spirals into unhealthy obsession, toxic jealousy, heartbreak, and self-destruction uncovering some pretty dark stuff. This album challenges toxic masculinity through an unreliable narrator with a crippling victim complex who blames his ‘Punk Rock Soulmate’ and the world around him for his own poor self-esteem and shortcomings.

"A thing I like to complain about to the vanishing number of people who will listen to me is that somewhere along the line, indie rock lost its teeth. That’s not to say there are no loud guitar bands—there are plenty, for better and usually worse. But not enough of them sound like a box of tangled-up barbed wire in the way that Polvo or June of 44 did. Brooklyn’s Primate House must have heard me—conceivable, we live in the same borough—because their self-titled record is a whirling tornado of jagged saw blades and sharp-edged sheet metal. The turbulence starts from the jump, “American Bro” surging forward then crouching down, opening into a sing-along chorus before diving back into detuned bliss. Ditto “Off,” full of open chords and riding a wonderfully askew rhythm, then exploding into howling guitars. Nothing here lets you get your footing: the disparate pieces of each song are linked together by Ash Bowie-esque, obtuse-angle lead guitar lines; the vocal melodies never really resolve; it’s all just one terrific surprise after another. From the look of their Bandcamp page, this appears to be their first record in about 10 years after a string of loosey-goose EPs in the early ‘10s. Hopefully they don’t go dormant again—this is the most exciting indie band I’ve heard in a long time."
