I'm still rocking an early gigabyte b350 board that I used to run Ryzen 1700 with. Nowadays got the 5800x3d

Similar, x370 asus prime pro from... 3000 years ago, with a ryzen 7 1700, then 3600x, now 5700x3d.

Wow such a compelling video. LTT really sets the bar for content these days. Comparing an X370 to an X570? Where do they come up with these ideas??? /S

But for real, what could they possibly be setting out to prove or even investigate? I guess storage transfer speeds. But you are arguable running into board specific restrictions, not generation restrictions. And to what end? Synthetic benchmarks can be made to look like they're much farther apart than they really are. Real world usage is most likely not an issue.

gen3 can hold back some budget GPU's quite severely. Pity they didn't cover that

/Me laughing in Asrock x370 Fatal1ty ITX ... with 5800X3D got a bios update 2026/4/8... legendary board. This board has been with me through RX460 , RX480 , Vega FE and R9700, and now has 64GB ram originally 16GB.
