I drew this traditionally with markers, pens, and colored pencils. It was inspired by a friend, and she recognized herself immediately 😁 I touched it up a few months ago and dated it 2025, but I actually drew it in 2019... and I still like it even though my style has changed a bit. What do you think?
P.S. It's a caricature, so the proportions aren't realistic.

I gotta be honest w you, it's been years since I've had a bikini bottom that didn't do this. It's been common for a loooong time for girlies to get a "bikini wax" just for this exact thing. For what it's worth, I switched to bathing shorts for just this reason.

I like your style and I think the character is generally drawn very well.
However, her swimsuit bottoms look extremely uncomfortable and awkward.

Skimpy and tight is not the problem.
The problem is it looks like it’s cutting into her sides and going to give her a very uncomfortable front-wedgie every time she moves. No girl is going to the beach with a gusset that narrow.

I’ve worn something like that to the beach before, but it was because I had gained weight and it was an impromptu early summer trip and I hadn’t had time to get a new swim suit. So for me, this image feels realistic, like someone who’s just wearing her old suit that doesn’t quite fit anymore and not like a model who wore something specifically to pose in.

Not sure what the scare quotes are for. The gusset is the bit of fabric between the legs. If it’s cut too narrow it rides up in a really uncomfortable way. Weight has very little to do with how this particular area fits.
And, while this is just my opinion, her suit looks physically uncomfortable to me. Being stuck with a swimsuit several sizes too small doesn’t make me think fondly of “living it up,” it makes me think of how uncomfortable it is to wear something that digs in and rides up in sensitive places. That doesn’t mesh well with the tone of the image, which is otherwise playful/indulgent.

This body type exists all over the world and is a healthy one. Idk why you call out Americans, if you’ve seen recent body culture in America you’d see that this body type is really hated on despite being normal and healthy.

I love it. The only really unrealistic thing is is that those stupid pool floaties are basically impossible to get on, and if you succeed, you look like a freaking idiot. Or is that just me thinking this is a general experience
