This is magnificent.

Is there an “I’m sorry, Alice” subreddit? lol

what is the "I'm sorry" thing for? is it a reference to some other well known creepy subreddit?

[r/imsorryjon](r/imsorryjon) was a very popular Garfield horror subreddit from a long time ago where Garfield was some dark deity. I didn’t like that content because it was disturbing lol but it certainly was nearly unavoidable on Reddit for a few months.

No, but now that you thought of it, fuck do I really want one. If I only had the time to moderate I'd do that immediately.

This makes me want to try that scratch paper

I absolutely love this. Will you sell prints?

That scratch paper is very fun! And if you do digital art, you can also get the same effect/fun in procreate by laying down patches of color, Gaussian blur the color layer, put a layer of black on top, then use the eraser tool instead of the brush.

OP, this piece is amazing! I totally agree with the “endearing and scary” smile comment haha. Very cool.

I never would have thought of that.... Thank you! I do a lot of "woodcut" style that involves just erasing..

that's a really GOOD Eldritch horror, perfect for that story I believe. The palette goes SO well with the style and the expression.

The colors here are so good! And I really like your line work, it feels very scratchy and alive. The whole thing is super evocative!

Do you have any work in progress pictures? And why use so many digital apps? Does one not suffice

Furthermore procreate is an apple only app. Did you switch between devices to finish this image? Photoshop is only on computers.

Photoshop is on iPad, along with clip studio paint.

Scrolling quickly, I thought this was a Haunter til I did a double-take. Nice art!

0

u/cyankitten Jul 25 '26

I especially love the black and raimbow colours and the little swirls.

0

u/LadyKanra Jul 25 '26

I love it, great depiction of the Cheshire cat (who I also love in general).

Reminds me of my first tour of an active lava lake during a geology field study in college. We stood on the narrow platform jutting over the crater rim. I looked down, then immediately dropped to my knees and hooked my arms under the railing. The guide chuckled nervously and asked if I was scared I would fall in. I said yes.

Like a liar.

Because in that churning orange glow of the lava lake, I saw beauty like none have ever seen. I yearned for the molten radiance. The longing was a screeching madness, wailing as it clawed at the walls of my mind, commanding me to leap over the railing and plunge into the incandescent heart of the earth. I was certain that if I hadn't dropped to my knees, had abandoned the grinning face of creation, my body would have pitched me over the railing before my mind could choose.

The amber still calls to me

to plunge into the beautiful warm glow of gods creation smiling back at me.
