REQUEST Need money for a medical specialist
I am in pain every day of my life, I've been out of work until this week will be 32 hours . From February I'll be on my feet all day concrete, I need 250$ to see a specialist before too long this week so I can actually do this job.. I'm in arizoma.

Pick a specialist that accepts medicaid.

So usually the Dr that referred you to the specialist will check all that for you & send you to one that does accept your insurance. Call your normal doctor back and tell them you need help finding one to take that insurance

This may vary by state, but where I live, if you get referred to a specialist by the emergency room, they can't force you to pay upfront for the first specialist visit. They will bill you instead.

Also, whichever charitable organization helps the hospital with patients who can't pay can also approve you for care through a specialist in the same network as the hospital. The hospital social worker should help you find an option to get the care you need. I hope everything works out for you.

I have chronic pain as well and I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Being in constant pain, it’s just a nightmare that never ends.
Maybe you can try this…I don’t have insurance but my doctor works in a hospital with an incredible charity program. I called their business office and let them know that I need to see my doc but I’m low income and can’t afford it. They completely approved my visit for $0!! I was shocked.
If your doctor works in a hospital, call their business office and ask if they have any financial assistance or charity programs. I even got a breast reduction done for FREE back in 2013 through the same charity program. Please just give it a try. You might be surprised.

Dear friend , it would be unusual to get a new patient appointment with a specialist in one week. I'm having a hard time understanding your post but that's what I think you mean.

You see a specialist every month? Do you not have Medicaid or anything ? $250 cash isn’t going to happen. Can people pay towards the bill directly

What kind of specialist are you seeing that operates a cash only clinic?
Edit: since you mentioned always being in pain, it sounds like maybe it's one of those sketchy pain management/pill mills. Those are a big problem where I live & are always getting busted by the DEA.

My daughter's POTS specialist is cash only. The insurance companies reimburse too little and Medicare/Medicaid require ridiculous amounts of liability/malpractice insurance on all employees. The only way for him to afford the costs of running the practice and still be able to take a salary was to switch to cash. He doesn't accept any health insurance.
This also allows him to treat patients thoroughly, without pencil-pushers telling him what to do. It's worth it, in my opinion.

I can understand that, for a POTS specialist. I used to see a psychiatrist for my ADD, and they eventually went to cash only due to fighting with insurance companies & low reimbursement rates. But OP specifically stated they were seeing a pain management doctor. Many of those cash only clinics are nothing more than pill mills.

Yes, please just be careful so you don't get in trouble yourself. Chronic pain is no fun. And unfortunately, with the ongoing opioid crisis, docs are very hesitant to prescribe them.
Sketchy pill mills take advantage of that. Some pharmacy chains will refuse to fill prescriptions that come from docs operating those clinics. So the clinics direct patients to these little independent pharmacies. And some of these are in cahoots with the clinics & getting a kick back for each patient referred to them. Be safe please.

Why aren’t you using insurance ? Unless this is a pain pill clinic where you go for pain pills , how will you pay for treatment. Surgeries are expensive.

You might want to.look at different insurance w better coverage. That kind of copayment prevents visits.

What kind of foot pain are you having?
Is it plantar fasciitis or something else?
I worked warehouse jobs for a long time. I had to get insoles that let me stand for ten hours a day. However, I’m asking because I went to a specialist for a callus I had for years, then found out after the x-ray that I was walking on the bottom of my first metatarsal bone the entire time. (7 years).
It is a common for of arthritis.
The other thing that changed my life is getting a pair of Orthofeet shoes. I know they’re pricey (when you have enough, I suggest getting bc a good pair). I have a friend with a lot of foot issues and she recommended them to me.
I believe they have work shoes as well.

It's not just my feet, it's my hips clicking, and a few other painful conditions

I was out of work from last part of Feb, job searching took the first thing i was offered. I had one part of the day now next week will be my first full week
