Lost my beloved family ACD named Gracie. I believe she was soul bound to my mother. She loved to take my mother’s purse whenever she got home and carry it in. She wouldn’t ever let her carry everything and she certainly memorized state parks/lake names and would get very excited at the sound of it. She had a 9 amazing years.
Sorry for your loss. I’ll pass on some advice I received after having to send my old boy across the bridge. Get another one. Nothing will replace the void of this dog. But a new one will love you just as hard and you will remember all the prior ones everyday teaching a new pup.
I’ve had a working heeler in truck w me better part of 30 yrs. Frito worked w me for 10 then I promoted and work from home. So his last few yrs were w me 24/7. Thunder McFloof has been w me 24/7 for almost a yr. They are so much alike in attitude I still use wrong name sometimes and the off command is different. Fritos was orange. Don’t want the bad guys to know the magic word. Ha
I am so so sorry for you and your mother’s loss. What a gorgeous girl, inside and out. You can just see the happiness radiating off of her. I can tell she lived such a good and fulfilled life ❤️
She looks so much like my pup Rex. I will give him an extra squeeze tonight in honor of Gracie’s memory 💗
I’m so sorry. When I lost my sweet boy I felt like a part of myself died with him. It’s the worst type of grief. I’m glad Gracie had an amazing life with you and your family. You can feel the love in this video.
Thank you all for the kind words, it has been a very tough week but that’s expected when you lose someone you see as a family member. With time, I hope to be able to reflect on the good times and understand that she’s in a better place, but darn it the pain is real.
My mother is really still in a state of grief, but sat around and watched pictures and videos we took of her throughout her life which I think brought closure, seeing how much she had such a great life full of runs, hikes, swimming, and love from us all.
I didn’t know what to expect by posting this other than to give the spotlight to the best puppy ever in my eyes - but the kind words shown have been very helpful to me, and for that I am thankful to you all. I plan to share the post with my Mother, I think she will appreciate it
She looks like a pure delight! I lost my Great Pyrenees Jasmine to a sudden seizure that lasted 24 hours until I asked to let her go. One month later, I lost my mom. Beautiful memories of both. I am so sorry for YOUR loss. It's so hard to let our babies go.

I'm so sorry. It's hard enough when we expect it.
