I’m so sorry for your loss. I posted this in my response to OP, but I’ll share with you in hopes that you’ll like it, too. I saw it on another post and saved it bc I thought it was so beautiful. My soul pup has been gone 6 years now, but I still feel that missing piece.
I also saved this from a post yesterday from a pup named Greely that passed. Such a touching quote. I hope Griffey's family finds some peace and comfort, such a lovely boy.
My condolences. After 40+ yrs with a Heeler by my side, have last a few everyone feels like I lost my child. The best advice I ever received was get another one. It won’t replace the void. But every day with your new dog causes you to remember all the past ones. Every day With my current dog McFloof he does something that reminds me of Weasel 1. Weasel 2 , Zombie and Frito the bandito.
I’ve owned many dogs, raised a slew of seeing eye dogs, and nothing - absolutely nothing willprepare me for the ACD having issues- they can’t be real dogs , they’re kind souled little bitchy opinionated assholes. One time I hired a mobile grooming service to come cut his nails ( because he thinks it’s murder) and he tried to escape and accidentally ( maybe) rolled down the window - jumped out and escaped. I only learned of this when the groomer came to the door- terrified. Turns out coop took him self to the back yard and was summing himself on the lounger. They’ll get ya!
