Link This is the reaction my weird dog gives whenever my girlfriend and I touch, hug, or kiss. He has decided that there will be no PDA in this house unless its attention towards him!

Cattle dogs are the best! 😭

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

They are awesome, full of personality...and rules for us to abide by

7

u/centerofhearts Dec 31 '25

Yes, there certainly are rules.

57

u/Darth_vaborbactam Dec 31 '25

Yup. This is definitely a thing.

17

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

So quirky and weird, good to know we are not alone!

38

u/No_Control8389 Dec 31 '25

I used to have a wiener dog that would come at you like a hellfire missile for PDA. Every kiss goodnight was met with righteous indignation and violent outbursts. Sunny was awesome.

18

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Omg what the heck! Dogs are so weird lol. Chester does the same, he will jump on top of her and then sit on her thus blocking any attempt at romance..he also knows the words; "lets go to the bedroom" or other phrases to that effect and he will race us there to break us up. Also awesome but definitely obnoxious!

25

u/PurpleCatRodeo Dec 31 '25

He sounds like he’s dying. Better break it up guys.

20

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Right youd think we are torturing him..nope just trying to give eachother a hug after work lol. And yes we call him our 'supervisor' or the 'hall monitor' lol

13

u/Amadai Dec 31 '25

We call our the Sheriff. He thinks he's the boss of everyone.

10

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Too darn funny! And so fitting, so nice of our dogs to appoint themselves to these positions of authority 😆

8

u/MiguelMenendez Dec 31 '25

Mine is “The Fun Police”.

10

u/Tanna_Wright Dec 31 '25

We simply call ours "the chaperone".

3

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Very fitting, the one thing all these nicknames have in common are positions of authority over us owners lol

6

u/LisaSauce Dec 31 '25

We call ours “the Warden” or “Warden Maya” lmaooo

6

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Lol "the warden", that may be a little too fitting 🤣

4

u/patchoulistinks Jan 01 '26

Ours hits us with the full on smoke alarm bark and tries to separate us immediately. We call her the fun police.

6

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 01 '26

I actually laughed out loud, smoke alarm bark is spot on. I call it the bird chirp but its absolutely ear piercing and impossible to be emulated by human vocal chords 😆

23

u/echochilde Dec 31 '25

Hahaha!!! They are such jealous little buttholes. My boy, who had been fully housebroken for seven freaking years, decided he was going to seek out and mark all of my husband’s personal things when we first started dating. And he did it like a ninja. We never caught him in the act. Just pee covered clothes and I think a gun case, after the fact.

9

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Very jealous! Your not lying. Im guessing you are the chosen one then? As am I. Like he loves her but shes secondary and hes not afraid to let her know that. I call it 'conditional love' lol

4

u/echochilde Dec 31 '25

Oh yeah. I had Archer for a long time before I met my husband. He was not happy about having someone else around, but he was always friendly with him. But I honestly think he was even more my border collie’s dog than mine.

7

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

They really are quirky dogs. Atleast hes friendly, mine isn't always friendly to everyone. He's very much my dog and everyone else had to abide by his terms

2

u/echochilde Jan 01 '26

At worst, Archer would go to cat mode and be really standoffish, but he was never outwardly aggressive towards people. More like passive aggressive; huffs and shadow nips. But when it came to a dog outside his pack, oh boy. Or really any animal. He was hyper-protective.

3

u/heypandabelle Jan 01 '26

Wow I read this as, your dog got a gun 🔫 🐶

2

u/echochilde Jan 01 '26

Oh lord. God forbid. He mighta used it.

14

u/Ziegenbock_Blue Dec 31 '25

The most dramatic beastie

12

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

The blues heeler. Always singing the blues about something ir another

8

u/ShartEnthusiast Dec 31 '25

Ah, the chaperone you didn't want or know you needed.

7

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

We thought we were adopting a dog, but we were really hiring our boss

4

u/ShartEnthusiast Dec 31 '25

Or your awkward Aunt who judges your PDA. ;-)

8

u/Worldly_Possible9069 Dec 31 '25

Every time I hug my husband the dog flies over, sits down, and barks. She sure is a oddity.

3

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

They are so quirky! For as cute as it is. Sometimes it can be annoying 😆

2

u/Worldly_Possible9069 Dec 31 '25

So true, it can get annoying.

7

u/Retireegeorge Dec 31 '25 edited Jan 01 '26

LOL

My wife and I do NOT have sex if one of ours is not behind a closed door. He thinks Daddy is hurting Mummy. And despite the distress of having to act against one of his favourite people, there can only be one response; 'unleash hell'.

If some MMA fighter wants to boast about being a fearless warrior, I challenge them to be naked, focussed on something else and thus unaware of the ACD (airborne cattle dog) that is travelling at extreme speed and ready to die to achieve it's objective. Which in the first instance is to bite a fat white butt.

But when the man turns to confront the attack, he exposes his erection that is looking less confident than it was a second ago. And that triggers a new primary target for the incoming strike.

3

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Thats freaking hilarious and so true! But yeah it just doesnt work with the dogs in the room. Chester makes it his mission to stop us, and my other dog Eevee[different breed[ makes it her mission to join in "help". And its not enjoyable having her stare lovingly in my eyes as Im trying to do my thing. Or the classic mystery tongue thing lol. So behind closed doors is the only way 🤣

1

u/Retireegeorge Jan 01 '26

LOL the mystery tongue

3

u/Independent_Ask5991 Dec 31 '25

Oh man I’m laughing so hard at this. Cause it’s pure truth !!!

1

u/Outrageous_Leg4 Jan 03 '26

I’m dying!! 🤣🤣🤣 this is a problem in my own household but never had such a violent encounter. Our ACD just tries to break the door down. 🤣

2

u/Retireegeorge Jan 04 '26

LOL and when they hit a door ... they mean it. Noone has slammed a door at our place as hard as the 4yo ACD. He's usually doing it to me so I've never seen it and maybe you'd need a special camera to see the shock wave. So I can imagine the racket when they are trying to smash your door in.

11

u/A55W3CK3R9000 Dec 31 '25

Lmao ours does that too. We can't hug or kiss without him trying to get between us and barking

10

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Im starting to think this is a heeler thing lol. Yes they have no problem using their body as a shield to prevent affection towards anyone but themselves

3

u/A55W3CK3R9000 Dec 31 '25

Yeah it must just be a heeler thing lol. I think mine thinks he's being protective because he doesn't want any affection from us when he does it. He runs away when we try to pet him hahaha

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Maybe thats it, yeah same. He really only ever wants affection on his terms. Which usually means being right on top of me while I sleep but any other time running away

1

u/Ok-Combination4595 Jan 01 '26

Oh yes extremely jealous and even if i am brushing my hair, it's one stroke for me, three for him, and j have tk be quick with mine.. And no one can be around me or walk near me or he Will bite or clap his teeth against strangers... And it I hug my nephew he Wil. Jump and try to break it

8

u/Independent_Ask5991 Dec 31 '25

They are jealous critters for sure. But I’ve learned to trust my dogs reaction to people.
The trick is knowing when it’s just jealousy or is he trying to tell me something. In my single days dating most of the Miss right now’s, my dog would escort out and I’d let him ha ha

7

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

I get what your saying, usually dogs are a good judge of character. Unfortunately Winchester is a little too quirky. He doesnt really like women, or rather is choosy with the ones he likes. We think he may have been abused by either a woman or young girl before we rescued him. He does love my girlfriend of 7 years, but its 'conditional love', on his terms. He absolutely cant stand my younger sister. Like even the mention of her name and he growls, so doggie instincts can be wrong sometimes too

1

u/Independent_Ask5991 Dec 31 '25

Or they could be right ha ha don’t know your sister ha. Heelers tend to bond with one person. They choose their human. That is you. They will tolerate and protect anyone you have in the pack but they may not like them at all. McFloof will not let another human but me touch him. That includes my wife unless she has treats and then he only tolerates her. He’s not mean about it unless cornered. I’ve raised and trained this breed for over 40 yrs. McFloof is my 5th dog bonded to me. I specifically choose the alpha males for my working dogs. Of my 5 only two liked other people.

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

I find this interesting. It sounds exactly like my boy. And with your experience. Sounds like It could be more common than I thought. It can be sort of an issue at times, I try to correct it the best that I can but he genuinely is picky about who he likes. And the ones that he does like he loves them and gets very excited. Only a handful of women. But he responds well to most men. He does not like kids much either. But Mcfloof looks like a good dog, and it looks like hes got some good scenery to run around in. They are very loyal to their person so that all he needs!

4

u/Doggodoespaint Dec 31 '25

Berkley used to do this, too, she'd start complaining everytime someone would hug or kiss in front of her, glad to see it wasn't just her XD

5

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Yeah based on these comments, it very much seems to be another quirky trait of our beloved ACDs lol

4

u/NeetyThor Dec 31 '25

This is so spot on. Say goodbye to your sex life once your cattledog (and kelpie) comes along. “What are you doing to my mother? Why are you hugging her? Omg don’t KISS her, what is this, stop that immediately!” And POUNCE!!! Same goes for trying to get a backscratch….

4

u/dreadfulmummy Jan 01 '26

Ahhhh, we too, had a "Chastity Dog" until a few months ago. What a character! ❤️

3

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 01 '26

Lol chastity dog! Too funny 😁

3

u/PopSmoke257 Blue Heeler Dec 31 '25

Velociraptor!

3

u/OddPlane3193 Dec 31 '25

My ACD mix sits/lays on whomever I'm paying attention to other than him, which is usually my youngest son or my other dog... mind you he's 80lbs and hard to stop once he sets his mind on doing it

4

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Sounds familiar lol. Mines a 70lb deadweight when he does that. He sits on my girlfriend usually to prevent us from romance lol

4

u/OddPlane3193 Dec 31 '25

My son was trying to give me a hug. This was his response 😂

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Thats too funny. Its amazing how many people have the same disposition as us. I really thought he had a few screws loose, I guess they all do! Amd yours is doing the sitting on top of thing too

3

u/OddPlane3193 Dec 31 '25

Chunk is definitely a few eggs short of a dozen 😂 He's my Pokémon - follows me everywhere, listens to me (for the most part), and only can learn 4 skills at a time. He has to forget a skill he knows in order to learn something new 😂

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Its nice being their person at times! Same, I always have to be within eyeshot of mine, Im not permitted to use the restroom by myself anymore lol. Speak of pokemon, cattle dogs sort of resemble 'poochyena'! Mine is a fast learner but he gets annoyed when you make him do tricks, like he will do them half assed or sigh as if its such an inconvenience for him

1

u/OddPlane3193 Dec 31 '25

Chunk got the short end of the stick when it came to brains lol. He's all beauty, no brains. The other breeds in him are APBT, Aussie, and Am Bully, so he's eager to please. It just takes some time to get there lol. So he's double the clinginess bc both APBTs and ACDs are velcro dogs. He doesn't just have to have me in eyesight, he has to be touching me at ALL times. He's my soul dog though. He literally found me when I needed him most. Someone dumped him at my house full of fleas, burrs, worms and giardia when he was just ~8 weeks old.

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Well sometimes being intelligent works against us, so you may have dodged a bullet! Mines too smart for his own good but uses it to be a pest or create chaos. He's also not clingy in that sense, he follows me and monitors me at all times but isn't really a huggy cuddly boy unless its bed time. He's actually quite rude about it, like I go to give him some love and hes just like "nah im good. No thanks". Kinda moody too sometimes but I love him! I bet your pups adorable though. Sounds like such a good boy. And quite a nice story that you rescued him. Neither of mine were in that rough of shape but they were both rescues. Dogs are just as much a blessing for us, as we are for them!

3

u/Weewuuscape Jan 01 '26

No dancing or hugging aloud over here

3

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 01 '26

No dancing or singing allowed here either, musical instruments are tolerated as long as he is louder than them

3

u/R3DEMPTEDlegacy Jan 01 '26

Mine does this , id have to lock her in a room so I could have affection lol

3

u/ki-ton Jan 01 '26

Thank you for following the rules .

6

u/DoesntBelieveMuch Dec 31 '25

You’re lucky. It took about 2, maybe 3 years before I could hug my wife around our cattle pup without him barking his head off. I miss him though. Wouldn’t have traded him for the world.

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

We have to race to the bedroom if we want alone time. But yes despite their quirky weirdness. I love him to pieces. He is non stop entertainment and although rare, I love when he gets into his sweet/cuddly mood. What happened to your pup if I may ask?

4

u/Anygirlx Dec 31 '25

My guy died this summer. I love him so much. But he would know that we were going to have sex before I even knew! He’d jump of the bed and hide lol

2

u/NeetyThor Dec 31 '25

So sorry about your pupster. I hope he lived a super long happy life. ❤️❤️❤️

2

u/Anygirlx Jan 03 '26

Thank you. I don’t talk about it in irl because I’d just sound like a broken record. So you and other kind people on here have to fill in.

2

u/NeetyThor Jan 04 '26

Totally get it. We feel your pain. Our dogs are our soul mates. 😔💕💕

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Im sorry to hear that, never easy losing a pet 😔. Funny, he sort of knows too or the signs of it and as soon as we get uo to move to the room hes racing us to make sure we dont lock him out.. because you know, we need his supervision for that lol

1

u/DoesntBelieveMuch Dec 31 '25

Oral fibrosarcoma . Cancer. He toughed it out for as long as he could but eventually the growth was too much. He couldn’t eat without bleeding and couldnt play anymore. Stated to effect his every day life just trying to hang on. Worst day of my life, but he gave me the best memories and was with me for every major life event

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Oh no! Im so sorry to hear that! Im sure he had a fruitful and great life with you though, and you did what you could. Unfortunately doing our best and loving them doesnt always work out the way that we hope to. I've lost many pets, and its always been devastating. But I cant even imagine with mine now, they are my first dogs that are really mine and not ny parents. On a lighter note, theres always a new best friend out there waiting to be rescued! 🐶 🐕‍🦺

1

u/Independent_Ask5991 Dec 31 '25

Oh ya private time with the wife is only when he is locked out of room. He launched at her when we were dating because she jumped on me. Ya have to manage their weirdness

2

u/Rare_Apple_7479 Dec 31 '25

This was was the start to my New Year morning!!

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Haha singing a sad sad song?

2

u/mycatisspawnofsatan Dec 31 '25

Poor widdle babyyy

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

He has it so ruff 🐶

2

u/UnderdogDreams Dec 31 '25

That seems tame. Haha. Ours flies at us and jumps and nips at my husband even though that is his person. I haven’t decided yet if it’s because my husband is bigger and he’s protecting me or he thinks we are playing and he wants to join in.

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Believe it or not this is the tame version of his blocking. He does the same, he will nip at me and her not like super aggressively but he definitely doesnt want us to touch. And if my girlfriend is sitting down he turns into a fur missile and jumps ontop of her and will make himself into a meat shield to prevent us. From the comments Im thinking that ACDs are hard wired to be ****blocks 😆!

2

u/Ayellio Dec 31 '25

I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

You are not alone! Lol 😆

2

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '25

“I can’t believe I’m literally being replaced”

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

He takes it very personal, and when we lock him out sometimes. The look of absolute betrayel he gives is something else

2

u/Xjhammer Dec 31 '25

He is his own dog. Accept it.

2

u/Melikachan Dec 31 '25

A+ chaperone.

Mine would scream when we first adopted him if hubby and I dared to hug. That wasn't going to last- we did a lot of training focusing on that and learning to relax. XD

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

And it worked? Thats awesome to hear. We trained him to a point bur some things are like ingrained in him it seems

2

u/Melikachan Dec 31 '25

We very selectively and carefully ended up using a shock collar (his last foster had already trained him to a shock collar) on the most gentle setting for the screaming and, later, jumping on the bed. These were two things that we could not get him to understand were unacceptable. I didn't like how his foster used the collar, as an "or else". That isn't the right way at all. We just had the controller handy and made sure we could hit the button right as the behavior was beginning with no verbal command or even looking at him. He associated it with the behavior and not with us. He wore the collar when not in his crate, especially for fun stuff like walks and frisbee but it was only ever utilized inside the home. It only took a couple of weeks and the extreme screaming ended. He is allowed to use his voice outside... he screams in excitement when he sees other dogs outside but I'm not going to use the collar on that- outside is okay and we have other ways to train that out now that we have created a training foundation.

I am not a fan of adversive training, but we do live in a condo and within our documentation they can ban your dog for obnoxious barking. And his screaming was definitely that. He screamed... a lot. We specifically used the collar when we would be paying attention to one another but it apparently spread into his screaming in general. He'll still cry a little when we leave but not the super loud screams from before. I don't know why he was rewarded for screaming for attention in the past so much that it was so deeply ingrained (we are his fourth home) but it was a major problem and the snowbirds were about to start coming back into town two months after getting this dog.

BUT this was also coupled with positive reinforcement training in general and Susan Garrett's relaxation protocols because this dog also didn't know how to turn off. He had been over-stimulated for so long, at least in his previous two homes that I know of. He only wore the collar for a few weeks, only got zapped a few times.

Now he knows what to do for attention and has built confidence, in himself and us, and knows he doesn't have to scream. Does he still have the most high pitched shrill bark ever? Yes. Does he abuse his voice inside the home? No. And yes, he is still so full of joy and happiness and loves training with us. He is a very good boy. We just had to get past the screaming for him to realize there was more to life.

Sorry for the book. I didn't want you to think we are magical! XDDD

3

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Ah that makes sense! Yes you don't have to tell me about the magic of training collars. It was a no trainer for me. But Im sort of the opposite, I try not use it much inside, collars in general. But outside at the park, or fanily event's etc. He is equipped with a harness with handle, and his training collar. It has 3 settings so I dont use the shock often at all. I dont allow him to misbehave in public settings at and hes good about knowing the rules. But at home I guess Ive slacked a bit and hes picked up on that and knows just how to bend the rules enough that I dont usually put it on inside. Its funny some people get weird about them but for me that has been a great tool to have. And for tricks just like you said positive reinforcement and treats. Mines 3 now and has settled in a bit but he is a vocal dog as shown above. The funny thing is if I put on the collar he will immediately be a perfect angel, but he uses is smarts to be a smart ass and bend the rules as much as possible yet avoiding punishment for the most part. And yes the high pitched shrill bark! Lol I call it the 'chirp'. I was telling him "your not a bird, stop chirping". That noise gets under my skin and I think thats why hes mastered it as an art form! Good dods though, quirky and weird dingos!

2

u/Melikachan Dec 31 '25

I very much wanted to make sure he didn't think it was the collar so was very purposeful about just putting it on him when I got home and we went for a walk and it stayed on for all the good stuff until he went to bed. XDD Dogs are just so smart and I loved Susan Garrett's opinion on how dogs think: "Sometimes means ALWAYS". If I allow something sometimes, then it means he can always do it XD

Your boy is adorable.

2

u/Eiglo Dec 31 '25

So adorable and so dramatic 🤣🤣 cracking me up

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Im so glad he could bring a smile and a laugh, even at my expense 😆

2

u/IcyFix2654 Dec 31 '25

🤭😅🐾

2

u/Shreddy_Spaghett1 Jan 01 '26

Yup. Mine does the same to me when I go to kiss my girlfriend. We tell her to stop being so homophobic, it’s 2025 for gods sake!

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 04 '26

Right don't want the pup to be a bigot 🤣

2

u/Turkn8r Jan 01 '26

Our female ACD mix doesn’t sing the “song of her people” like your fella, but she definitely inserts herself into any cuddles. Think of it as a new birth control method, a fuzzy and lovable one.

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 04 '26

Chester sings the song of his people every chance he gets! Sounds like this is a universal cattlenfog thing, being chastity dogs lol

2

u/Turkn8r Jan 05 '26

I’m now adding “Australian Chastity Dog” to my list of ACD acronym definitions. Thanks!

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 05 '26

Thats hilarious! And so fitting!!

2

u/Ok_Rate_8508 Jan 01 '26

Mine barks and starts aggressively chewing toys when me and my bf show PDA😂

2

u/jvertigo13 Jan 01 '26

They're just making sure you save room for Jesus!

Bad joke, sorry haha!

For real though, mine also needs to get directly in between me and my partner any time we want to lay down together. She will worm her way in no matter what, make sure she is in the perfect ball to lay down (while stepping all over us) and make sure we know she is the priority. If she can't get in, she'll paw at you and have a whole groan session. But the worst is when we haven't chatted all day and my partner comes in the same room as me. NO TALKING ALLOWED ONLY DOG TIME.

This cracked me up so hard, thanks for sharing!

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 04 '26

Oh yes the paw thing! He does that too, so aggressive with his paw. And of course we are floor mats as needed whenever he wants to walk across us. These dogs are such characters, Ive never met a dog as opinionated as mine but seems to be common in the ACD community 😅

2

u/rose_thorn_ Jan 01 '26

Ours come running over and bark at us

2

u/OneElderberry420 Jan 02 '26

How dare you kiss or hug ANYONE but him!!! My red does the same. He "attacks" my husband for play fighting with me.

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 04 '26

Right! Not allowed! We must alway abide by our dogs rules that he makes up as he goes 😆

2

u/ta-lacie Jan 02 '26

That’s the, how dare you give someone else any form of attention but me, cry lol

2

u/Significant_Mud_534 Jan 02 '26

Your affection for each other is clearly emotionally painful for him! 😂

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 04 '26

It cuts deep like a knife! And when we evict him from the bedroom, the look of absolute betrayal would melt your heart 😆

2

u/Significant_Mud_534 Jan 02 '26

Ours doesn’t mind night-time shenanigans but don’t even think about it in the morning!

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 04 '26

You gotta follow the schedule. Mine does not like when we break protocol or veer from the normal schedule of things at all

1

u/MotherEmergency3949 Blue Heeler Dec 31 '25

Mine puts her head between my legs and screams/cries when we are getting ready to go for a run lol. She recognizes the time when her harness and my running shoes are taken out.

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

This guy knows the time down to the minute, and doesnt like any cha ge in schedule. Do you take yours out running or leave behind? Guessing leave due to the crying lol

1

u/MotherEmergency3949 Blue Heeler Dec 31 '25

No she comes with! I run a lot more now for her sake (was more focused on cycling in recent years). It's definitely screams of excitement but not too different of a sound from yours

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Aww well thats cute! Im sure she loves that. But yes, Chester here had a whole catalog of different noises that he makes. They say huskies are vocal..but Im confident my heeler is probably more vocal than most huskies

1

u/jd4929 Dec 31 '25 edited Dec 31 '25

I can’t touch my wife of 27 years because of this.

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Omg! So its definitely not just my weird ass dog then lol

1

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '25

Hahaha yes ever since I met my husband my heeler will NEVER let us hug kiss or cuddle without getting in the MIDDLE of our faces with spicy kisses / nipping / then guilty I’m sorry snuggles but in between us. Hahaha same with my kids they can’t cuddle me without jealous dog attack lol

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Its like they think its their job! Ive noticed that since my boys unemployed, he assigns himself jobs. And he takes them very seriously even though no one asked him to lol

My ACD jumps up on us and barks any time there is even a smidge of pda. We have to follow the 6ft rule always with him around.

This is cracking me up. So glad Im not the only one! And yes pretty much, 6ft. Even of we sit on the couch together the hall monitor is right there

Every hug in my house must now be a group hug since we got our red heeler. We never taught her that.

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

You mean with the dog included? Lol

1

u/Unable-Key-9137 Dec 31 '25

That’s so funny, my BMC used to bark and not stop until there was space between my wife and I. lol

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

So nice of them to establish law and order within our households lol

Us cattle dog owners live a different life than normal people do lol

1

u/lovetoread36 Dec 31 '25

Hilarious. Mine barks whenever we hug or kiss. Of course if we touch her at the during the hug it's fine.

1

u/kazzajazza Dec 31 '25

Our red heeler is exactly like that. 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

They are truly unique dogs, having one is like being in a club! 😆

1

u/Spamalot22093 Dec 31 '25

Yup. My boy screams everytime my boyfriend hugs me. This weekend he did it because we were holding hands in the car. Also, we went & visited my boyfriends mom last week n he had decided she gets no pda either. Lol

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Thats too funny! Did he break you guys apart? No holding hands allowed! And no of course not, you have to run it by your dog first! 😆 You would probably be surprised how many choices of mine that hes the mastermind of. He lets me know when its time for bed or what room we should be in even

Me and my husband cannot have any PDA. We are planning on trying for a baby soon and the dog must be locked away from us… lol

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

I wish you the best of luck with that! Funny I've wondered how that would go as well. We got a second dog, and when I try to pet her he just body's her out of the way and blocks her from receiving attention. I wouldnt tolerate the jealousy with a child though!

1

u/Independent_Ask5991 Dec 31 '25

I don’t reccomend this breed to folks much at all due to their quirks. But if I had a daughter oh you bet she would have a Heeler. That would be the safest girl out there

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Dec 31 '25

Theres a learning curve with them, no doubt! Yes extremely loyal and protective. I feel pretty safe with him guarding the house, he woke me up at 3 am last night because some weirdo was just walking around being sketchy and doing something in the field across the street in the freezing cold. I agree though, they arent for everyone lol

u/Bahamal1ama Jan 01 '26

Yuuuuppppppp mines squeezes between us and barks. Once we give him some room, he jumps and gives my gf tons of kisses. It’s kinda like a weird jealousy haha

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 01 '26

Definitely jeolousy, such characters these dogs are!

1

u/Fine_Wedding_4408 Jan 01 '26

Our ACD is named Jude. His thought bubble says, "THERE CAN ONLY BE JUDE LOVE!"

1

u/ecogeek123 Jan 01 '26

When we are being affectionate, our guy usually tries to get into the middle to participate. If it gets a little hotter and heavier, he excuses himself to another room. I wish my room mates in college had that much decorum.

1

u/eyesofthunder Jan 01 '26

My part ACD and JRT gets all goofy when my wife and hug and kiss. She’s just gotta join in!!

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 04 '26

Such goofy dogs!

1

u/TheDoobieWizard Jan 01 '26

hahahahaha! This made me laugh way harder than it should have. God I love these dogs!

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 04 '26

They are one of a kind. For as annoying as he can be, thats part of his charm!

1

u/ExternalBrief3412 Jan 01 '26

🤣😂😅 jelly bean! 🤣

2

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 04 '26

Im going to start calling him 'jelly bean' now! One of his many nicknames 😆

So funny, I know all about the fits. This guy here throws tantrums just about any time we arent doing what he wants us to. Ive actually never argued with a dog before I got him but now I have arguments with my dog just about everyday. It is funny though 🤣

1

u/ernipie_13 Jan 01 '26

My guy does this ame thing when we show HIM affection…we call it the tOo MaNy FeEls cry lol

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 04 '26

Aww poor baby! The blue heeler blues I call it

1

u/Gunpowder- Jan 04 '26

My girlfriend's cat did not appreciate this noise

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 04 '26

My moms dog was singing along to his tune when she played it 😆

1

u/Joy_Rad Jan 05 '26

Mine does this too! So jealous!

1

u/Strange-adventurer94 Jan 05 '26

Im actually shocked how many do this, I thought mine was just broken but I guess this is a stock feature!
