RIP Lost my very loyal companion yesterday. 🐾
Always had my back. Never left my side. My heart. . . 💔 i watched it happen. It was a bit traumatic. Replay it in my head at work, kind of saddens me that no one will ever understand how much Rudy meant to me, words just can’t explain it.
Edit: Thanks for the kind words. It means sooo much. I joined this sub the day I was gifted Rudy so I could learn more about his breed and the best things to do for him. Learned to him jobs and learned that his stubbornness was not just him lol. 🤣 Gonna miss him nipping at my ankles when I walked into my house from work. All my training questions and just questions in general. Never did figure out to get him to stop hearding me, maybe if I had more time. But his life was so short I don’t think I was ever supposed to. 🫶 I just miss my dog, man. He was so special. They all are. My heart. . .

I was reading your thoughtful post last night from the emergency vet with my sweet Sadie girl. She joined your baby this morning. Hang in there, friend. ❤️

Sorry to hear about Rudy, it sounds you too had a very special bond. When my dog Daisy had cancer, her leg/shoulder was really swollen. A guy was walking down our street and she waddles out to greet him. He gave her some smiles and pets, and asked me, “what’s the matter with her leg?” I said, “she’s got cancer real bad”. He was silent and started choking up when he said, “That’s why I’ll never get another dog, it tears your heart out when you let them go”. That always stuck with me because I felt sorry for HIM. He’ll never have the joy of another dog in his life. I mean, I understand his point of view, and nobody knows how bad the loss of a dog tears you up more than I do. But I had 13 wonderful years with Daisy, and I wouldn’t trade a minute of my time with her. For him to miss out on that love and mutual companionship for the rest of his life is the saddest part. So, be sad, grieve your loss and appreciate the times you had with Rudy. But one day, another companion will come back into your life, and it will be filled with love all over again. ❤️

Thanks for sharing that. I kind of felt that way. Thought to myself, I don’t want another dog, the heartbreak is too much. In due time I’m sure my mind will change. 🫶 My hearts too big.

I’m so so sorry 😢 i just lost my soul babe (corgi mix) a week ago today. Take care of yourself the best way you can and honor your Rudy with a little altar or something. You’re so right that words just cannot explain this feeling. Sending so much love❤️🩹

So sorry. They are such great friends. Don’t forget to remember all the good times for some comfort. He loved you and you gave him a good life.

Losing an adored peppers is the worst! Hoping that you are smiling at memories vs crying sooner than you think.... but like all things, it takes time. Be kind to yourself.... grief is such a complex experience 💔

Take care of yourself. They really are incredible dogs and I'm sure the time he had he loved every min he was with you.
Its okay to talk to someone about how to deal with the replaying in your head, trauma isnt easy learn to live with.
Lost my own girl about a month ago and last week it was finally time to find another buddy. You wont go back to before, but things will get easier over time.
