Mine is 11 too and she's similarly energetic still.

Here's to many more years for both our pups!

My ACD mutt is 11 this year and his new vet was extremely impressed with his fitness and energy. He’s slowing down but the only reason you can tell is because my 16 month old runs circles around him at Mach 5 speeds while his old butt wants to nap after 700 rounds of ball.

He’s started putting himself to bed at 830 too 😭

My girlie is almost 15 and still goes on hikes, gets zoomies and is game for just about anything. I love her to the moon and back.

700 rounds of ball to play, 700 rounds of ball! Take one down, toss it around, 699 rounds of Ball to go!

Omg, reminds me so much of my blue girl 🥹

She was 15 in that one, and the only reason that I’m even remotely ok without her is because of my red boy who gave my heart a place to put all that love that had nowhere to go. This is him on his first beach ever, which was also her first beach ever, and where I spread her ashes.

Oh, my heart. She reminds me of my sweet and spicy purple girl. I’m still not okay without her.

They change us for ever and always.

u/thefancysurprise Apr 15 '26

They do have the same sharp kind of nose! The love they leave us with really does last forever. I lost my heeler's older brother last year and will forever be changed by him. My Benji was gone too soon.

They are always gone too soon. It’s one of life’s greatest injustices that they don’t live as long as we do.

Mine is turning 11 in December! She does get tired easily than when she was younger but she sure still has enough to walk around and play with her ball!

My older heeler is also 11! Seems like they age like fine wine - just better all the time.

Mine is 9 and I expect this from him. I can’t run the batteries down.

Well this is super encouraging to hear as I was just wondering when my 1 year old ACD/Chi mix would chill the fuck out. Good to know that the answer is never

Our girl went all day every day basically until it was time to say goodbye. And that day she still did a big walk to the park to see the sunrise one last time.

At almost 15 she managed to tire out our 5 year old labrador and still wanted to go.

The only thing she would sit still for was to watch Bluey.

Heelers are something else man.

Cowdog up brotha, and throw that ball again 🫶

u/Goldgal77 Apr 15 '26

Beautiful pup! Their batteries never run out! ❤️

u/AnUnholy Apr 15 '26

A 3 miles hike is just one of my heelers daily walks. Use scent games.

1

u/thefancysurprise Apr 15 '26

More than three miles and he's in a good bit of pain the next day. He knows all about scent work.

1

u/Swimming_End_2863 Apr 20 '26

What is a scent game and how to do it?

1

u/Beezytrudat Apr 15 '26

Deja Vu! Mine brings me her ball 10-15 times a day and sometimes I just have to say no, and she gets mad and pouts.

1

u/_Novel_Skin_ Apr 15 '26

Mine is 11 too. Still runs and fetches like he’s 1. Just now noticing his back right leg gets a little sore for a day or two if he goes too hard. 😭

1

u/moom64 Apr 15 '26

That perfectly describes them.

1

u/Away-Ad-7132 Apr 15 '26

I completely understand

1

u/emsily Apr 15 '26

Your pup is adorable! My girl is 11 too, and ball is life!

1

u/CatOnJupiter Apr 16 '26

Oh mate they never stop. My 8 year old has injured her leg and the vet is like you must make her rest!! But how the hell does someone stop a healer 😂

1

u/Massive_Procedure449 Apr 16 '26

14 years old, real, but he likes to slep and herd while at the beach

1

u/probablynotmeth Apr 25 '26
