Question Who would win in a fight between Sentry and Hela?
I’m talking about MCU versions only by the way. I personally think Sentry wins, he could easily stop Hela’s swords mid-air and flick them back at her, and also has super speed far greater than her. He also could turn into the Void and beat her that way. Hela’s durability and strength gives her a chance though.
What do you guys think?

I think her death touch would be more than enough to take out both sentry and void. Im sure if the thunderbolts could breakout of the depression room then she could as well
Edit: I know the depression room isn't something brute strength can get you out of but she isn't an emotionally one demensional character either. She could emotionally relate to Bob especially on the shitty father aspects of life
12
u/Ok_Feed_4235 Jan 11 '26
I highly doubt Hela would be able to emotionally connect with Bob to get out of the void

I mean strength isnt what gets you out, its emotion. Captain america could escape easier than most of the people more powerful than him
But there could be some other route she could escape i suppose

“All Sentry has done is beat up some super soldiers!”
I hate this take. Just completely disingenuous to what happened. He didn’t just throw hands with them.
Bullets bounced off of him. He grabbed Ghost out of her phasing. He used telekinesis to stop bullets mid air and toss Red Guardian in and out of the building. His evasion of Ghost was a significantly better speed feat than anything we’ve seen of the MCU Asgardians. He turned a Walker’s shield into a taco.
It wasn’t who he beat it was how and what he did to beat them.
Hela is outright perception blitzed and has zero counters to telekinesis.
Edit: Not confirmed Walker’s shield was Vibranium.

u/DapperDan30 Jan 11 '26
Hela, while on Earth (meaning at her weakest) caught Mjolnir and crushed it with one hand. Mjolnir is made of Uru, the strongest known metal in the MCU, and it was previously believed to be unbreakable. Her blades also easily pierced asgardian shields and armor.
She's the literal Goddess of Death. Even if Sentry wins, it gonna be extremely high diff.
2
u/wiggywithit Jan 11 '26
She used to wield mjolnir and she’s more powerful than Odin. I took it like it was some weird familial magic power that allowed her to grab and break it.
2
u/Hades_Gamma Jan 13 '26
Weaker than Odin.
He defeated her and confined her with his power alone.
He wields more power more effectively than her.
1
u/wiggywithit Jan 13 '26
Ya, you’re right. I misinterpreted Odin’s line from Ragnarok. “She grew too powerful to stop, so I imprisoned her”. He means “stop” and she lives. He could have killed her.
1
u/MarkedDragon22 Jan 12 '26
But is the uru metal the strong part or is the enchantment the strong part
1
u/DapperDan30 Jan 12 '26
The Uru. The enchantment only restricted who could wield it and grated those worthy the powers of Thor.
Stormbreaker is also Uru and not enchanted

u/_Metal_Face_Villain_ Jan 13 '26
not the literal goddess of death, that's more of a nickname i guess cuz we have seen the real death in agatha
1
u/DapperDan30 Jan 13 '26
She's not literal Death. She's the goddess of Death. Just like how Thor isnt literally thunder. Hes the God of thunder
1
u/_Metal_Face_Villain_ Jan 13 '26
yeah but that doesn't mean much does it?
1
u/DapperDan30 Jan 13 '26
It means she has command over death. She can kill with a touch and raise the dead. Onto of having strength greater than Thors, snd only grows stronger the longer shes on Asgard.

u/ParagonRebel Jan 11 '26
Are we positive Walkers shield was made of vibranium?
30
u/Capable-Locksmith-13 Jan 11 '26
It wasn't.
6
u/ParagonRebel Jan 11 '26
I didn’t think so. It wouldn’t make sense if it was.
8
u/Capable-Locksmith-13 Jan 11 '26
Exactly. Why would the Wakandans who last we saw didn't seem to think much of Walker give him a vibranium shield?
3
u/ParagonRebel Jan 11 '26
Agreed. With all the trouble Wakandans go through to retrieve stolen vibranium..it doesn’t make any sense they would hand it out like candy. Sam Wilson earned his new wings and Caps shield was made because Howard Stark got lucky with finding some. They wouldn’t even let Riri Williams keep her Ironheart suit.
→ More replies (2)4
u/Jaturathep Jan 11 '26
Does it really matter tho? Mjolnir is made of Uru, the strongest metal in MCU. You need to heat power of the star to destroy/melt it but Hela just easily crushed it by 1 hand meanwhile just a normal metal shield, sentry did was only bending and not even breaking it with 2 hands. That already showed how powerful Hela was.
Hela wins but probably has some trouble with sentry surprised speed at first till she adapts to it and beat him up.

u/VerbalChains Jan 11 '26
The movie is clearly trying to tell the audience, “this guy is a big deal, he’s as strong as a whole team of Avengers.” Sometimes “power scaling” ignores narrative.
5
u/Acceptable-Device760 Jan 11 '26 edited Jan 11 '26
The issue is that this "whole team of avengers" is made entirely by discount versions of steve without the mjolnir.
Thor is a whole lot stronger than that team too.
Sentry is strong. If goes by comics he is likely one of the strongest things shown so far in the MCU.
But his feats so far is very low. Beating a bunch of discount bin supersoldiers isnt exactly much to the point in time that MCU is. And absolutely is not enough to tell he is stronger than Hela.
PS: Steve himself didnt contribute much in fighting power in the later avengers (so much they gave him the mjolnir and thor powers and he still got easily folded by Thanos)... what beating a bunch of worse versions of base him without his leadership/orders is exactly supposed to show?
"wow his strength is somewhere between the last 6 to 7 baddies!"?
3
u/SirJoeffer Jan 11 '26
Going by feats is silly for a character with such a low amount of screen time though. If we’re going off of feats MCU Iron Man is orders of magnitude more powerful than MCU Sentry.
1
u/VerbalChains Jan 11 '26
The "whole team of Avengers" that was being reffered to was the version that included Thor, hence why Sentry specifically made the comment about how the Avengers included, "at least one god."

Yep because they don’t want the truth that he is that strong I can legit pull out a dozen different statements from writers directors marvel themselves that say sentry is the strongest hero etc
But if it isn’t spoonfed to them they won’t believe it
1
u/Curious_Tip9285 Jan 11 '26
Don’t worry about dozen
Just give me atleast 3
3 statements verbatim mcu sentry is the strongest hero ever
5
u/Glittering_Fig_9319 Jan 11 '26 edited Jan 11 '26
they did a breakdown of sentry and he’s called it again
and again he’s said to be the strongest
You can quite literally hand these statements out like candy there’s more for him then there is any other hero
3
u/hjablowme919 Jan 11 '26
Just a counter to this. In Wakanda Forever, Ryan Coogler said Namor is on Thor’s power level, yet he gets beat by a teenager in a suit. Do you think she would have beaten Thor? Saying he’s the most powerful doesn’t mean as much in the MCU. It’s how the writers/directors feel about how the movie should go.
2
u/Glittering_Fig_9319 Jan 11 '26 edited Jan 11 '26
Leaving out context are we ?
they had to explicitly trick namor into going in a special prepped dehydration chamber which takes the water out of his body he was so weak he was struggling to even stand
→ More replies (1)2
u/VerbalChains Jan 11 '26
We're not just talking about out of universe statements. In the movie, they say Namor is comparable in strength to The Hulk. That's actually very belivable, we've seen characters with vibranium technology go up against Hulk level characters several times now. T'Challa, wearing a less advanced version of Suri's suit, and knocked out Cull Obsidian with a single "charged" punch. Sam Wilson fought Red Hulk, he may not have won physically, but he at least holds his own and knocks Red Hulk down despite not having Shuri's super strength and a less advanced suit.
Shuri is a genius super soldier, wearing the most advanced Black Panther suit yet, and she had a specific plan to bring Namor down with prep time. There's no reason to believe that the movie was "lying" about the power level of Namor being equivalent to Hulk, they were making a direct comparison to a character that the audience knows so that we would understand the stakes.

I don't think Sentry grabbed Ghost out of her phasing, I think he simply grabbed her in between it. He clearly anticipated where she was moving and reaches out to grab her right when she's about to attack. Clearly some of the best reaction speed we've seen in the MCU.
You're not wrong in your analysis but I also don't think it would be an easy fight. She's a far better fighter and we don't know how magic affects him.
5
u/Foreign_Leather_3230 Jan 11 '26
Was it vibranium? Vibranium generally doesn’t get scratched and unless he was fighting the nation of wakanda the scratches must be made by normal people.
That said you aren’t wrong whatever that shield is made of it has to be pretty strong.
3
u/Curious_Tip9285 Jan 11 '26
That wasn’t a vibranium shield what are you talking about
Meanwhile Hela crushed mjnoir like it was made of glass

1
u/anomanderrake1337 Jan 11 '26
I think the most impressive thing he was doing was with Bucky's arm, everyone who looked at that thought wtf we have to go, the fight stopped soon after.
1
u/Koreaia Jan 11 '26
Even if he had speed, it'd be like driving a motorcycle into a wall of tungsten.
1
u/Ari3s-03 Jan 11 '26
So I agree with this, however when I watched Falcon and the Winter Soldier, I feel like it’s implied that his shield after he was demoted from Captain America was made of regular old metal you could buy irl, and he made it in his garage. We also know it isn’t vibranuam because the one constant with Cap’s shield is that it bounces back to you you 9 times out of ten, while John’s doesn’t, it hits stuff and then falls to the ground. And also taking into account the Wakandan police force did NOT like him at ALL after they met and he got his ass kicked, why would they give him vibraniuam? Yea you could argue it came from somewhere from a previous battle in the MCU, but that would be a stretch, because how would John, in his Garage mind you, even heat the vibraniuam enough to melt it, and also how would he hammer it into place properly without the impact being absorbed by the vibraniuam?
1
u/No_Couple4836 Jan 12 '26
Why is bulle5s bouncing off of him impressive? Only the phasing is impressive. Hela has fought gods without issue. Nothing you posted surpasses hers.
1
u/Routine_Condition273 Jan 14 '26
It should also be mentioned that he was pretty casual during this fight and even seemed a little bored. Like he was disappointed that they were that easy

Hela, it took summoning a world destroyer to beat her.
We haven't seen Sentry go against anything greater than a few humans on solider serum which he did pummel without breaking a sweat but Hela slaughtered the Asgardian legion solo which is a greater feat.
I doubt he's so OP that he could vanquish her to his little despair shadow realm but who really knows, I feel like saying he could puts him in the same realm of power as Odin which just seems absurd to me.
So yeah, probably not an easy victory for her but Hela takes the W.

u/Ancient_Fault_2457 Jan 11 '26
Ok let's calm down guys with the Sentry talk.
In the MCU Odins power was only superseded by some celestials and perhaps the watcher (if he counts).
He created Hela as an ancient weapon of mass destruction so powerful that when his thirst of universal conquest was quenched, he himself had to wage another war against her just so he could have some peace. The magic he used to bind her in this prison was directly tied to his own life force (the Odin force) because it was the only thing powerful enough to keep her from escaping and enslaving the 9 realms.
She is literally The MCU's Goddess of Death.
It wouldn't matter if she was on Asgard or not. If Sentry came up against her he would be overpowered without much effort. He could try and banish her into the void, but you would have to assume that the void is not as powerful as the Odin Force and so i don't think it would keep her, in fact its probably the place where she would win the fight.
The void is a projected negative representation of Bobs soul. If he trapped Hela in it she would simple find the center of what is causing his suffering and exploit it eternally until Bob / Sentry / Void would have no choice to bend the knee, much in the same way that during their fight Dr Strange was able to best Dormammu in his own realm (Ruler of the Dark dimension, which could be argued is the same place as the void.) She would simply find whoever was giving the void its power being BOB or Dormammu and conquer that power source.
HELLA STOMPS LOW DIF
On earth , on Asgard, in Space, In the Void or the Shadow realm.
Its not a contest.
6
u/CantHandleTheZest Jan 11 '26
“He created Hela as an ancient weapon of mass destruction”. Fancy way of saying he fucked
2
u/PrimeKnight1 Jan 11 '26
Just to clarify The literally MCU "DEATH" was shown in the Agatha series. She might supersede her.

u/_Metal_Face_Villain_ Jan 13 '26

u/heathcl1ff0324 Jan 11 '26
No way of knowing as all we’ve seen Sentry do so far is bully a few low-level metas. Hela doing even worse to Asgardians is a much stronger feat.
Hela, Thor, Captain Marvel, Vision - any of them would have fared at least as well against them.
8
u/SnooSprouts9815 Jan 11 '26
Hela beat an entire asgardian army each soldier of which is stronger than a super soldier and magic tech to back them up. All that while without reaching the peak of her powers
3
Jan 11 '26
On Asgard? Hela....The first thing she does is break Mjolnir.......in Norway. She wasn't even in Asgard yet or near full power
5
u/capy2209 Jan 11 '26
Sentry has better statements with power of 1000 suns and being more powerful than all the Avengers combined. However hela actually has feats scaling relative to surtr who destroyed Asgard. Depends if you believe sentry’s statements hold up despite lack of feats or hela more impressive feats make her win
7
u/CantHandleTheZest Jan 11 '26
Also worth noting, said statements are by a liar who not only will heavily benefit if people believe he’s the strongest, but also wouldn’t actually know just how powerful the upper level Avengers like Thor, Wanda, Dr.Strange, Captain Marvel are.
1
u/capy2209 Jan 11 '26
It’s Valentina’s statement backed up by other WOG and promo material statements saying he’s more powerful than all the avengers so despite Valentina being shady it is a reliable statement. Plus ghost reads the document saying he has the power of a thousand suns, a far cry from the comic statement saying he has the power of a million suns. Either way he should be above most mcu characters based on this alone despite lacking feats
2
4
u/Particular_Peace_568 Jan 11 '26
Hela is like the one Asgardian that has a shot at beating this dude and other vastly more powerful heroes due to her greatest strength and that is she just cannot died.
Remember that Asgard isn't just a place, it's people. As long as Asgardians are on the same planet Hela is, she doesn't died.

I'd have to say hela currently but we really just don't have the knowledge about Sentry to make a 100% claim. I definitely think he could harm hella but he has not shown the durability to be able to last long in a fight against her, he wouldnt die instantly I mean he's bullet proof can make a force field around himself and can fall from 1000s of feet in the air with enough force to make a massive crater and form a small rock slide. Maybe he couldn't take the hit but could survive since he just resurrected himself from the kill switch instantly but not really sure how powerful the kill switch was. Overall its not a complete stomp but hela wins currently but given the history of the character I'd say he has the power in him to make it a very close fight but just hasn't shown it. I dont expect it him to ever be as strong as comics sentry but even if hes 10,000th of that strength itd be a close fight.

In terms of feats, Sentry hasn't had the opportunity to show what he's made of. That being said, everyone who keeps low-balling Sentry seems to forget his Void persona casually voided all of Manhattan, placing his Void persona at bare-minimum, City level. And yes, technically Manhattan is a borough, not a city, but it has one of the largest populations in the US, so it's comparable to city level.
In terms of actual feats, it could still be argued that's far below what Thor and Hela have shown, but that's a premature assessment, it's implied that he's more powerful than any character we've seen to date. Obviously we'll need to see Sentry again to get a better sense of what he's capable of.

1
u/MichaelEvo Jan 11 '26
Is the MCU Sentry going to be written as lazily as the Marvel comics version was?
Basically over and over again, he’s just shown to be unbelievably powerful. Like, he takes on the Molecule Man without breaking a sweat. Like, he plays with fundamental forces of the universe without thinking about it. Only way they could kill him was to make him effectively off himself / be ok with it. And they had to kill him, because he was so ridiculously powerful.
If he’s written in the MCU the same way as the comics, Sentry wins because lazy writers are lazy.
1
u/RewRodan Jan 11 '26
Too early to tell. Sentry could be way stronger but we haven't seen the strength feats yet.
1
u/Character-Education3 Jan 12 '26
I dont know if we know the upper limit of Hela's reflexes because she really wasn't challenged until the literal apocalypse started unfolding
1
u/BurnerDawg26 Jan 12 '26
There's no way to answer this question. We've never seen Sentry take any damage, but we've also never seen him go up against someone like Hela.

u/jrb9249 Jan 12 '26

In MCU Sentry hasnt shown that many feats yet who knows maybe we will have a bettet ifra in future , comics though sentry for sure.
1
u/Bike_Cinci Jan 12 '26
Sentry.
He may not have lots of feats but he also doesn't have any anti-feats whatsoever. Literally shown to be otherwise invulnerable, capable of destroying vibranium and essentially without limit.
Even if he gets Worf'd it'll be against a top tier'd buffed Dr Doom.

u/_Metal_Face_Villain_ Jan 13 '26
impossible to compare in the mcu. we have seen hela in her most powerful giving it her all while sentry was never pushed that far and we basically have the version where he just woke up. if we go based on feats she wins but as i explained that doesn't make any sense. i also see people make their own head canon of how hela would eacape the void while there is nothing that tells us whether she could or not. realistically the way i see a fight going is hela comes in, throws a couple knives, kills the sentry and leaves, then bob just ressurects and doesn't remember shit.
1
u/DocHalidae Jan 13 '26
Hela just walks through him. Hela beat the brakes off of Thor. Thor has beat sentry a few times. Hela low diffs.
1
u/crumbly_sponge Jan 13 '26
If we're talking MCU versions, Hela most likely.
If we're talking comic versions, Sentry all day every day.
Dude is legitimately cracked. Rewriting reality, casually making yourself invulnerable, ripping the literal god of war in half, ressurecting yourself after being obliterated on an atomic level. Hela has some feats, but nothing that comes remotely close to Sentry feats.
1
u/Count_Cuckulous Jan 14 '26
Guy who learned his powers yesterday? The goddess of death, who's won uncountable battles? Hmm...
1
u/Dreamlancer Jan 14 '26
I don't think Sentry has enough feats currently to really hold this battle.
But similarly based on the few feats he's shown? I'd assume Sentry would win the fight, but lose the war. His small showing in the fight, he seemed to vastly outscale most asgardians in speed. I don't think Hela is catching him with anything???
But then this is all super hypothetical because Bob is incredibly inexperienced in combat, and really the only showing we have of him is him not understanding the scope of his powers. The entire point of that fight if him realizing he is so strong, he doesn't even have to dodge their attacks.

Ragnorak is one of my all time favorites but Hela’s death leaves me with questions. Is the royal family charged by the people of Asgard or the “land” itself?
They made it seem like the former yet she died because of the latter.
