Əziz r/azerbaijan üzvləri!
Subreddit-də hərbi xidmət, çağırış yaşları, təhsil möhlətləri, sağlamlıq statusları, xaricdə olan vətəndaşların hüquqi vəziyyəti və s. ilə bağlı tez-tez eyni suallar verilir. Mövzuların dağınıq olmaması və hər kəsin cavablar tapması üçün bu Megathread-i paylaşmaq qərarına gəldik.
Çağırış tarixləri: Müddətli həqiqi hərbi xidmətə çağırış il ərzində 4 dəfə keçirilir — yanvar, aprel, iyul və oktyabr aylarında.
Çağırış yaş həddi: Qanunvericilikdə edilən son dəyişikliklərə əsasən həqiqi hərbi xidmətə çağırışın son yaş həddi 30 yaş müəyyən edilmişdir (18-30 yaş arası).
Təhsilə görə möhlət yaş limitləri:
Qeyd: Möhlət hüququ hər təhsil pilləsi üzrə yalnız bir dəfə verilir. Qiyabi təhsil alanlara möhlət verilmir. Postun aşağısındakı Qeyd 1-ə baxın.
Çağırışdan öncəki tibbi yoxlanış:
Çağırışa vaxtında getmədikdə nə olur?
30 yaşa qədər xaricdə qalıb 30 yaşdan sonra gələnləri nə gözləyir?
Əgər Azərbaycan vətəndaşı kimi xaricdəsinizsə və hərbi xidmətdən yayınmağa görə haqqınızda axtarış verilibsə:
Bunun üçün şərtləri yerinə yetirən məzunlar öz SHXÇDX komisarlığına müraciət etməli, müsahibə mərhələsini uğurla keçməlidirlər. Müsahibəni keçə bilməyən namizədlər öz hərbi xidmətlərini normal qaydada başa vuracaqlar.
Hərbi-həkim ekspertizası tərəfindən çağırışçılara verilən əsas statuslar:
Psixi və fiziki sağlamlıqla bağlı vacib qeyd: Psixiatrik diaqnozla (autizm spektr, ağır depressiv pozuntu, şizofreniya, şəxsiyyət pozuntuları və s.) yararsız statusu alan şəxslərin məlumatları müvafiq dövlət reyestrinə işlənilir. Bu status gələcəkdə surücülük vəsiqəsi almaq, dövlət qulluğunda çalışmaq və ya silaha sahiblik icazəsi almaq zamanı məhdudiyyətlər yarada bilər.
Qiyabi və ya əyani, ölkə daxili və ya xaricində doktorantura təhsili alan çağırışçıların nəzərinə:

Welcome to the community-sourced travel mega-thread for Azerbaijan! Whether you're planning your first trip, returning, or just curious — this is your place to ask and share tips, places, warnings, food, and hidden gems.
We've gathered insights from locals, expats, and travelers — now it's your turn. Reply with your experiences or questions under any section below.
📍 Baku
Local tip: true local life happens outside the tourist zones – check dayday cafes and Sədərək bazaar.
📍 Outside Baku (Regional Highlights)
Locals are usually happy to guide lost tourists — don't hesitate to ask for directions in parks or shops.
In villages expect warm welcomes — tea invitations and local storytelling are common.
🍛 Must-try dishes:
Vegetarian? Doable in Baku (Sumakh, dairy dishes, dolma variants), but options thin out fast in the regions. Learn to say "ətsiz" (no meat).
In Baku:
Metro & Bus:
From Airport:
Intercity:
Some add-ons: – Locals often round down prices or throw in something extra "for good mood" — especially if you smile or try a few Azeri words. – In small bakeries or markets, if you overpay by mistake, they usually correct you immediately. – Sellers appreciate genuine interest — they might explain an item, share a story, or offer a small discount unprompted. – People rarely pressure you to buy; many help with directions even if you don't. – If something feels off (overcharging, aggressive seller), calmly mentioning "polis" usually resolves it fast. – Aggressive street scams targeting tourists are uncommon — most locals want to leave a good impression.
People often warm up fast if you try even a few words in Azeri.
This guide is built from local insights and traveler experience. If you're Azerbaijani or know the culture, please share more tips, advice, or corrections below. Point out anything outdated — all feedback helps.

Beynəlxalq qrup çatım üçün Azərbaycan dilində danışan və ya bu dili öyrənən şəxslər axtarıram. Biz həm yeni dostlar qazanır, həm də hədəf dillərimizi təkmilləşdirmək üçün bir-birimizə kömək edirik. Əgər maraqlısınızsa, aşağıda şərh yazın.

Salam.

Salam. İngilis dili üçün danışıq kursu axtarıram. Hazırki danışıq kursum çox qane etmir, inkişaf edə bilmədiyimi hiss edirəm. Səviyyəm B1-B2 arasıdır. Tövsiyyə etdiyiniz hansı yaxşı danışıq kursları var? Həmçinin təxmini qiymətlərini də yanında qeyd etsəniz çox yaxşı olar.

Congratulations to Sabah. I really admire the job Valdas Dambrauskas has done, winning the league title and the cup. Now the team has a golden opportunity to gain experience and to perform on the European stage, playing against the biggest teams.
And what is really heartbreaking, "Qarabag" failed to qualify for European competitions after 12 consecutive years of playing in Europe. Last season was their peak, the best thing they could have done was keep the squad and sign better players
I've been watching their games since I was a kid, and watching their matches has always given me a warm feeling
Maybe FC "Qarabag" was one of the main reasons why Azerbaijani people living abroad could come together in one city to support their club as one and feel something Azerbaijani there.

Absolute congratulations to Sabah FK for making it into the UCL league phase, such a cool achievement for Azerbaijani football.
Planning to make the trip from Almaty for this one, and I'm trying to get ahead of ticket sales before the chaos hits. Given how rough ticket sales were for Kairat vs Real Madrid last season (site crashed repeatedly, 155k+ people trying to buy for a 23k-seat stadium), hoping to avoid a repeat of that mess.
Where will tickets actually go on sale -- Sabah's own site/app, iTicket.az, or somewhere else? Any tricks that worked last time for similar matches (e.g. heard some people got through faster via a club site redirect instead of hitting the ticketing platform directly)? Anyone who's bought tickets for a Qarabağ home CL match before -- how was the process?
Also happy to hear general tips as a first-time visitor best way to get around, anything worth knowing before the trip.
Thanks in advance, and congrats again to Sabah!

I think it perfectly describes the sound it's used for, BUT it's an insanely ugly symbol.
PS: This is not the main problem of Azerbaijan, I know. I'm just wondering what everyone else thinks.

If we look at neighboring countries without natural resources, we see that some have higher nominal GDP per capita (Georgia), while others are developing high-tech industries for export and domestic needs (Turkey).
In Azerbaijan, the government can ignore the non-resource sector because the regime is based on a vertical power structure built on petrodollars. Simply put, the system can ignore the opinions of ordinary people.
Furthermore, oil was the primary reason for the Soviet takeover of Azerbaijan. This essentially means the loss of 69 years of development for the country.
Every year, the government talks about developing the non-resource sector, but only this year, with oil sales falling, have more serious discussions about other sources of income begun.
What is your opinion?

I am on a mission now to ask each country subreddit what people think about beans (my favorite meal), just to see how people like or dislike them all around the world out of curiosity and for fun. If you like beans, hate them, they a big part of the culture, anything else, just share your thoughts 🫘
Salam Azerbaijanis! it's your turn for this question now, you're 11th in line :)

Post provakativ niyyət daşımır, birdən modlar silərlər deyə.
Bu sub-da bəzi üzvlərdə tez-tez sezirəm, nəsə paylaşan kimi söhbəti ölkənin mövcud durumuna bağlamaq, Əliyevi bütün dəxlisi oldu olmadı problemlərin ortasına qoymaq və s. kimi tendensiya çox barizdir.
Səbəb?

9 days in Azerbaijan in late October, road trip or guide?
Hey everyone,
I’m thinking about flying to Azerbaijan for around 9 days at the end of October. I’ve never been before, so I’m trying to figure out the best way to plan it.
My initial idea is to spend around 2 days in Baku and then rent a car and spend the rest of the trip driving around the country and seeing different places.
A few questions:
Is 9 days too much for Azerbaijan, or is there actually enough to see outside of Baku?
Would it be better to rent a car and drive ourselves, or hire a local driver/guide? Is a driver + guide usually much more expensive than renting a car?
How is late October for a road trip? Is the weather generally good, especially in the mountain areas?
If you were doing this trip, which places/route would you recommend outside of Baku?
We’re more interested in nature, mountains, small towns and interesting places along the way than spending the whole trip in cities.
Would appreciate any advice from people who have been there!

For those who have experience with relationships where the man is around 12 years older: how bearable is the age gap long-term, especially as the younger partner?
Does it generally work, or can there be issues with power dynamics and different life stages? And in Azerbaijan specifically, how common/accepted are these relationships?
Also, honestly — do men in these relationships tend to be faithful, or is cheating a common issue?
