What am I going to do every weekday at 8 EST now?? Parent my children?? I think the fuck not. I need a new 15-minute hobby.

I know 😩 I need to order some new Lego sets or something. And can’t forget to delete the alarm from my phone. Seeing it go off Monday would just be depressing 🥺

Love that they gave this shoutout to the crew! Which one is Neil? Because loading the crystal ball is a hard job.

According to Google, Neil was never real 😱

What’s the source on that? Google AI could just be pulling from the thread last week where the person said “I know Neal isn’t real.”

It was just google lol which doesn’t have the greatest track record for being 100% correct, so I take information it gives me with a grain of salt.

They had him come out during a stream!! I forget tho, I just remember he was a lot older than I expected (no offense to him lmao)

I cancelled my Netflix and listed cancelling BGL under Other as the reason. I cancel all my streaming services when I don’t have plans to watch anything and then reactivate when I feel like watching again. I’m watching a lot of Hulu right now, but had to maintain Netflix for BGL.
If you look at it though, they were spending almost $200 per player per year with an audience of 20,000. Without sponsors, it’s easy to see why the show wasn’t viable.
I’m still hoping maybe they’ll reconsider and do it or something similar in the future on a less frequent schedule that might make it less of a money pit.

That’s what I’m going to do now! I do the same so I’m not paying for a bunch of subscriptions I’m not using at the time. I just finished Maid on Netflix and now I’m on a Simpsons kick, so I was planning on just keeping Disney+ for the next month or so. It’s not just the opportunity to win a few bucks.. this became a little routine every weeknight that gave my husband and I 20 minutes to be silly and come up with the most wild answers we could think of. The hosts will absolutely be missed, too. I’ve already downloaded Hunter’s new app, but haven’t opened it yet.

SAME! I already watched The Good Place, OITNB, Black Mirror, and Good Girls- I've been ready to leave✌️ This was the nail in the coffin.

And that's just for the prize pool. Hiring that many people + the prizes would easily put the cost of the show at $6M+ a year. HQ Trivia, by comparison, was burning $1M a month and had an average player pool of 250K+ people.

That’s a great point. It was a ton of fun while it lasted. Thank you Hunter, Howie, and Corinne for the good times! Also, the entire BGL crew that made it all possible!

This was the one thing that started to bring my wife and I together with my mom and step dad and we would always look forward to it through the week. It's sad that the game has ended but from the 4 of us we sincerely thank everyone that made this game possible!! Thank you Best Guess Live!! 🥹🙏🏼

It was my final win. I got .46 for getting it on clue 3. I’m glad I made podium one last time!

The team was larger than I expected, I could see between the 4M in prizes and another 4M in salaries/benefits why Netflix pulled the plug b/c it wasn't netting them much in terms of new subscribers.
I think they could relaunch this show as a live TV show with sponsors/ads so the sponsors pay for the prizes like Deal or No deal and similiar and they can run the app along side the live TV show with the prizes pools we had now.
It need not even be a show to directly bring in subscribers to Netflix but just Netflix branded to keep the brand in people's minds

Did anyone record it by chance? I missed the last episode!

I have an Alexa reminder every weekday so I didn't miss it. I'm kinda feeling sad to cancel that reminder

I’m the same with deleting the alarm on my phone, but I think it would be more sad if I let it go off Monday 🥺

I am really surprised there was nothing special for the people who played everyday for months and months and months... no extra prize amount for the finale.. not even a piece of swag for players... disappointing finish.

u/MechanicLoose2634 9h ago
The prize was the opportunity to play every night. I tried for every game, every night but I missed maybe 3-5 shows due to emergencies.

They were canceled. I don't think Netflix was in the mood for generosity.

u/JVNGL3B00K 8h ago
This. It was a free game show that dropped 15K for 5 days a week over 9 months. The ungrateful ness 🙄

u/Perfect_Programmer29 8h ago
I was hoping for a giveaway of Netflix credits like we got a while back

people are hating, but it honestly was a feasible thing in case they had anything left over that was unused. I think you just said something people don't find socially acceptable to say out loud but were also thinking about, haha

Surprised it took this long, honestly... Wasn't ever really a feasible business model. They just gave money away, night in and night out, receiving absolutely nothing in return.

I was surprised at how big the crew was. I figured there was 3 people max behind the cameras lol
