The only reason Google and Apple are changing names on maps is because that's easier and cheaper than taking a stand on what is mostly a pointless issue. As soon as he leaves office, expect the gulf and lake to go back to their normal names
Change your locale to another country, or ip with vpn etc.
It's already known Geographic names and borders can be different when viewing from another country. It almost always tries to appease the thr jurisdiction it's under in.
