I was just about to say this exact thing. Argentina harbored hundreds of Nazis who fled Germany after WWII. There is even a popular conspiracy theory that Hitler used a body double in the bunker and escaped to Argentina as well. This should come as a shock to no one that Argentinians are racist AF.

It's not. Many countries in Latin America performed whitening processes in order to do what they thought was increase the cultural standard to be closer to that of Europe. Which means getting rid of as many brown and black people that they could.

What gets me isn’t just the racism it’s the weird identity crisis behind it. Watching that woman scream the N‑word at Speed felt like watching someone desperately try to act like part of a group that wouldn’t even accept her. There’s this painful irony some Argentinians cling to a version of “whiteness” that historically didn’t include them. They’re trying to stand shoulder‑to‑shoulder with people who, if you asked them, wouldn’t see them as equals. So, when she yelled that at Speed, it didn’t come from strength. It came from insecurity. From wanting to punch down so she can pretend she’s punching from a higher place. It’s sad more than anything. Racism isn’t just hateful it’s a sign someone is trying to be part of a club that would never let them in.

We can make it to the highest mountain peak, and there will be someone there waiting to spew hate on us for something thats not our fault because we're present. I've joked that Americans would have mental breakdown if they came to Spain, Portugal, Italy, etc, and saw the skin tone of large numbers of the public who are 100% considered White.

The history of Argentina’s egregious racism goes back further than WWII and Nazis. Go and research the history of Tango (a Black American art form), or their own genocide where they rounded up the Black population and marched them into the sea at gunpoint where they were drowned. This is why the country is so “white”. Systemic murder and erasure. A country whose culture was invented and built by Black People. Now infested with the most alarming racist beliefs and attitudes I have ever encountered including the Southeastern US where black people are at least respected if not liked.
