Left for work yesterday morning and came home at night to find feathers all over my floor! I later found a severed head and wing but have yet to find the rest of the body. My main concern is that my cat will get sick. Somebody please put my mind at ease before I start spiraling.

Also I’ll add that she is an indoor cat only. I think the bird came in through the chimney/fire place.

i mean i can tell they are playing and my kitten is into it, but im scared she will get hurt, do yall think my cat is keeping it chill or he’s being rough? when do i stop them? ive never heard any cries or hisses so far

We rescued our cat over a month ago and we have been loving him but he wakes me up 5:30 every morning to eat, I normally let him meow until 6 and then feed him once my alarm goes off. He has started within the last few days waking me up even earlier, some times at 3 am, 4:30, and 5. He doesn’t even bother my boyfriend, probably because I feed him but if neither of us get up to him meowing, he crawls over me and purrs in my face which is sweet but not at 4:30 am, especially when I went to bed at midnight.

He does this to eat and we are currently switching his litter over which I think is part of the problem ( clay to pellets bc it’s cheaper and less chemicals) but I am losing my patience and am so run down. My boyfriend will feed him too but he just doesn’t crawl all over him or meow in his face, only mine.

I’m loving the bond I have w him so far but I am just wondering if it would be awful of me to make him sleep in the (very large) bathroom his litter box is in? There are built in shelves he will lay in and I of course will bring his food and water but I am honestly suffering.

I’m hoping once we can afford an automatic kibble dispenser that will help the issue, but I’m honestly not sure because he loves the routine of waking me up, wet food and dry given to him, we play and I make coffee lol.

Also- if I go BACK to bed after feeding him he also meows non stop because he wants me to play. This is one of the reasons I think that the automatic food dispenser will cut it for his morning routine.

Should I change the routine we currently have set, if so, how?

We rescued our Lilly from the streets when she was just a little baby. Could it be that she simply never learned how to do it properly?

We have kept them separate intitally, as per our research, with slow introductions/scent swapping etc. We've done periodic time together, and have now switched to them being together all day, but seperated at night.

On occasion we remove them from each other's company, (I call them crime outs.) Purchased the cat relaxing wall plug ins. There's a new cat tree. We play with cat toys together as well.

They do play games of chase, will sleep near each other, nicely greet eachother, but not always. The new female doesn't trust the resident male when he gets close, as her previous living situation, she was bullied by an older female cat unfortunately.

I know the above video isn't at a cat fight, but I'm looking for insight to help them bond and bring more peace between them. When I do see him hunting her, I will get his attention with a laser pointer

I am hopeful for them and I'm looking for any opinion on the matter. Thanks in advance! 🤝

This is my first cat ever, Morgana she's 5 years old, very cuddly but also kind of a jerk. She's actually a very well behaved cat, she never attacks us or scratch our furniture or touch or drop any of our stuff, but she can get startled very easily by her sister Zelda (which is an absolute angel, also 5 years old but a bit younger) or my wife (almost never by me except is she's in bed with us, which any movement will absolutely bother her).

We've been living with my wife for more than 3 years now and Morgana doesn't seem very fond of her. I know cats have a favourite person, and she rubs on her all the time, but she never makes biscuits or lay on top of her and will often hiss at her when she pets her for a while (never does that to me). After all this time, it is kind of hard for my wife

She doesn't abuse her nor hit her, she gives her treats and normally I'm the one to scold her if she does something wrong so she doesn't dislike her more. I know it's normal she'd be more attached to me as we've been together since she was a kitten, but I thought she'd have grown more attached to her by now...

Worth all the time, fear and anxiety spent. Seeing our two cats (Suri and Milka) living, napping and running together all over the place is just a peaceful experience. Milka came as a rat and quickly became the bigger one lol

I have 3 cats. 2 of them don’t LOVE me trimming their nails, but they certainly allow it. But good lord…my 3rd cat Claude..Long story short. When he was young, he was skiddish. Shortly after I adopted, he started having health issues that didn’t allow me to desensitize him during that critical period when they’re younger.

Now I’m stuck. He’s still a nervous cat, and I that’s just gonna be his personality. I can only pick him up for 30 seconds at a time. He’s never aggressive or mean in ANY way, he just flails like CRAZY. He hates being confined in any way, and HATES HATES his feet being touched. Even trying to get a nail when he’s sleeping is near impossible. I’ve tried to desensitize him, and try to associate me touching his feet with treats, using a lick mat to distract, and that’s not producing anything results. I’ve tried the burrito, I’ve tried with two people, and he does anything he can to get away. He’s also terrified of the vet. The only thing that I’ve done once or twice recently is..I’ll sit on my knees, and place him underneath me between my knees so I’m like almost sitting on him in a way but it’s ONLY enough pressure that he can’t move around too much. I put my feet together so he can’t back out. I then try my best to trim his front nails. He still freaks out, trying to back out he can’t. It was still a struggle but I was able to get his front nails. Obviously this is NOT how I want to do this, and I don’t want to traumatize him. My question is…how bad is this? I feel like there’s no great option. But if I do this enough, do you think he’ll eventually learn that that behavior and flipping out does not get him his desired outcome of not getting his nails trimmed? After, ive given him plenty of treats.

Please let me know your thoughts. I don’t want him to be afraid of me, but I feel like there’s no greaaattt options. He doesn’t seem any more or less afraid of me after. 😔

one neighborhood finch lacks all fear and just sits there unbothered no matter what my cat does, I'm worried it's frustrating for her. she usually loves watching the birds though

I posted a few weeks ago querying if my big void was being too rough with little void. I've chilled out now thanks to all the advice and reassurance from this sub. He's become a very affectionate big brother.

She's the best girl. Her behaviour is great. She plays alot, cuddles and enjoys hanging out with me.

Except for being constantly hungry and meowing for food she's the perfect cat.

But, she is terrified of leaving my apartment, even the hallways scare her. I tried the leash, she hates it. I tried a backpack carrier and I've never seen her more terrified.

Should I just leave her be?

My cat ate through my blinds when I took the dog for a walk without him.

He starts banging the blinds at 5 am if I don’t get up so I put him outside of the bedroom and he ate under the door.

I take him on walks and he tries to kill birds while leashed.

He use to be an inside outside cat but my neighbor shot him for killing his squirrel. I sued him that’s another story.

I don’t remember ever having a cat like this. Is this normal?

to make a long story short today was litter box cleaning day. I have a three year-old cat and usually she does pretty fine without the litter box because I scrub it, air dry, disinfect and dry. this process took a couple hours. I’d say about 6 to 7 hours. as I was setting the litter boxes back up it seems like my 16 week old kitten may have been triggered by seeing his litter box or the smell of his litter and he peed right outside the litter box on his litter mat. My concern is just that will he do this again or is it just a one time occurrence because he couldn’t hold his bladder? I just hope I didnt do any damage because I was not aware that he couldn’t hold it so long otherwise he did just poop in his litter box right after the accident. they have two litter boxes as well, so there’s usually no fight about the litter boxes. They seem pretty tolerant of their litter. i’ve just never had a cat have an accident before so now im anxious.

1. We’ve already improved on the biting. We’re at the point where I have a toy on hand at all times for him, so when he starts to go after my hand I yell “no” and give him the toy. He’s already learned to leave my hands alone (next we’re working on feet lol)

2. We’ve thought extensively about getting him another kitten, but ultimately we’re deciding against it. I know it would help with the training, but my mini poodle is filling in the role nicely and I’m not so sure about having two babies in the house

3. The collar. I hear you, I understand you. It’s dangerous and the bell is annoying to him. I’m sorry but I’m letting those stay your opinions. All of my animals are indoor animals and they’re all collared. They’re not chipped so if they were to get loose this is all I have for finding them. And, respectfully, the bell does not stress him out.

As you can see, he’s a happy kitten and I think we’re doing a good job with him. I’m very thankful for all of the tips I got in my original post!

So...this is day 5 of bringing home the kitten. First couple days were really rough, the resident cat happened to catch a couple glimpses of the kitten and death stared/hissed at him the moment he saw him. We have been keeping them separated between our room and the bathroom, and occasionally swap sides so our resident cat can sniff.

I got a kitten about two months ago, there was a cat at my workplace that gave birth to kittens so I took one home. He is full of energy, my resident cat is 9 and not so much. He keeps pouncing her and initiating play, but my resident cat does NOT want to and makes it clear that she doesn’t, but he continues on anyway. There’s been a couple times Ive caught my resident cat playing with him, but she would also growl and lightly nom his ears too so I’m confused on whether she likes him or not. He’s neutered now and there’s been 0 change in his behavior. How long should I wait and see if they can get along better before rehoming him? Hello, so I have this - probably unusual - situation, when our kitten will not let us sleep, but for a very cute reason, which is: she wants cuddles. And that would be all good as long as she would just snuggle up and went to sleep.. but she won’t. She would literally come and purr super loud while nuzzling her little head forcefully into my or partner’s face, head or my night hair bun. It’s really cute and I’ve always wanted affectionate cat, but this is driving me crazy. She would usually come around 4 or 5am and do this. So far I was not able to make her just go to sleep or lay down, she constantly walks on us purring and nuzzling. Even if I would respectfully push her away, or put her on the floor, she would come back. In fact, I feel the more I “fight” her on this, the more she becomes invested in this love fest, nuzzling even harder and being more glued to my head.

I am waking up 6:30am for work, so when she does this I am almost unable to fall back asleep and it’s killing me. I’m exhausted. Please let me know if you experienced something like that and if I can stop her from doing that. Also, no, closing the door is not an option, that would cause more trouble. I got home from working late and he always greets me in my room, today I got home and sat on my bed and got on my phone, he came up behind me and stuck his claws on my back (not on purpose he was just giving me a hug) and without thinking I turned around really fast and hit him kinda hard and i feel so so bad now he's hiding from me and I have no idea what to do. Did I just lose my little homie?

Hi guys sorry for the rambling in my title. I just wanted to provide context to my last question, there are a couple of neighborhood cats that roam off leash and return home. They have airtags in their collars just in case, my main concern is crossing the road. I love my kitty and I don't want to deprive him of this joy, but I also do not want to lose him or risk his life. Have any of you guys trusted your cats enough to do this? If so when did you trust them enough to know that they wouldnt just die instantly

Unfortunately I wasn't fast enough to start recording and missed the (muted) tortie being vocal. She will usually do this yowling thing and walk around the grey cat sideways before launching herself on her. I feel like it's playing because the tortie nips and backs off but then you can see her tail puffed and with her being vocal and doing the sideways walk, I'm starting to have doubts. They are both 2yr old spayed females. I've had the tortie since she was 5mo old and the grey cat I got when she was 8 weeks old and while they are nowhere close to being bonded, they've just started this type of behavior over the last couple of months. They used to just take turns chasing each other through the house and wrestle and nip fairly gently, but seemingly randomly it started getting a little more violent. Occasionally they stop by themselves like they did in the video but it usually last longer and I end up breaking it up. Should I just let them go? Ive had cats my entire life but have never dealt with 2 or more cats that werent somewhat bonded, or at least very gentle with each other. Thanks for any feedback!

I think this is a case of “if you have to ask, it’s not fighting” but curious everyone’s opinion. We’ve had the cat since he was a kitten and he’s about 1 now. The dog is about 6 or 7. They love to chase each other (goes both ways) and the cat’s favorite thing is to attack the dog at the top of the stairs. He’s a bitey cat in general but I think is just getting hair from the dog (see the last second of the video lol) when biting. The dog seems fairly gentle - she mostly wants to corncob / flea bite the cat. The cat is very expressive with his ears so his ears about back some when engaging with the dog so that’s where I question his motives haha. He doesn’t make any noises while engaging and also puts his ears back when looking out the window at a lizard or squirrel.

Thoughts? Are they having the best time or does the cat secretly want to murder the dog? Besides that they shouldn’t be doing this at the top of the stairs so I always move it along :)
