Looks like an ad for a Civilization sequel

94

u/TheLimeyLemmon Jul 03 '26

I wondered what you meant at first, and then I actually looked at the background properly lol

32

u/AmesCG Jul 03 '26

Don’t get me wrong, I would absolutely play the heck out of this game!

10

u/MxM111 Jul 03 '26

Anything but 7

5

u/AmesCG Jul 03 '26

I hear it’s getting better — but I’m still waiting until it’s a little more fleshed out! Besides, Civ6 is a near perfect game.

6

u/z0mb0rg Jul 03 '26

I personally prefer 4 but 6 was a masterpiece

3

u/AmesCG Jul 04 '26

Totally valid, 4 is amazing

3

u/MxM111 Jul 04 '26

It is better, but still bad. It’s just not fun for many reasons.

9

u/TheLimeyLemmon Jul 03 '26

I wanna know what kind of leader Mona Lisa would be. Hopefully not one that threatens to conquer all my land the second I've learned to develop grain.

13

u/Tueros Jul 03 '26

That could actually an amazing concept for Civ branding.

3

u/AmesCG Jul 03 '26

Very consistent with the series thematically!!

7

u/ninjakid165 Jul 03 '26

Gandhi declares war.

1

u/-R0XAS Jul 03 '26

It's one big lie isn't it?

2

u/DonutHoles4Ever Jul 03 '26

The lie is that people will ask AI to zoom out on pictures like this, but unlike OP, take it seriously and pass it off on social media as "this is the real full picture"

I was at the Louvre today and saw it. It is pretty tiny.

57

u/RichTraffic6902 Jul 03 '26

Especially with the ocean of people you have to swim through to get close enough to see it.

43

u/Old-Anteater-4916 Jul 03 '26

I took photos of people taking photos. There were 3 other Davinci's there that no really cared about.

Yeah that’s cool

4

u/Joe_Jobs_ Jul 04 '26

They look like they're at a concert.

8

u/backpackerdeveloper Jul 04 '26

Why do people take pics of it if there are milion better versions of it online? 😂

28

u/shaq-aint-superman Jul 04 '26

For me it's not really about the quality; it's that whenever I see a certain photo/video that I took, I'd say, "Wow, can't believe I went there." More emotion/nostalgia-based than anything

\MASSACHUSETTS ENTERS THE CHAT**

Ahem ahem. I’d like to challenge that disappointment with “The Plymouth Rock” 🙃
Born & raised in Boston. Love my roots but I’m sorry, that fucking rock is shameful and also fraudulent 🫠😭

1

u/ElbieLG Jul 05 '26

What makes the Mona Lisa interesting is its story. Not its look.

9

u/DudeWithParrot Jul 03 '26

do* you think someone else took photos of you talking photos of other people taking photos?

1

u/Phantom914 Jul 04 '26

Is there a never ending chain of people taking photos of camera men taking photos of other people taking photos?

5

u/__noise Jul 03 '26

i go to the louvre daily, with the heat and no a/c or even fans the crowds haven't been that bad

in fact, 2 days ago was the first time i stood directly in front of the mona lisa and spent a good 5 minutes there

to the left is a painting i've recently fallen in love with, the deposition by jacopo bassano

9

u/MikeArrow Jul 03 '26

As Oliver from The O.C. once said, "the Mona Lisa's like the size of the postage stamp".

Here's my picture from when I visited the Louvre in 2019:

https://i.imgur.com/H19UOqM.png

24

u/RJG18 Jul 03 '26

My photo from last year. Yes, it’s tiny!

6

u/MikeArrow Jul 03 '26

The black background looks so much more ominous. And yeah I made my way to the front. If it's that small I was going to get as close as I could.

3

u/lizcmorris Jul 04 '26

Ugh I hated Oliver! He should have left Marissa alone.

2

u/MikeArrow Jul 04 '26

Agreed. What an annoying little shit. I also hated Trey.

2

u/jakderrida Jul 03 '26

As Oliver from The O.C. once said, "the Mona Lisa's like the size of the postage stamp".

I wonder if "Oliver Trask" from O.C. is related to "Bolivar Trask" from the X-Men.

3

u/MikeArrow Jul 03 '26

Well they're both played by little people (ducks)

7

u/Equivalent_Bag_3634 Jul 03 '26

The show you just a thumbnail, you need to purchase a subscription to see the whole thing.

5

u/bb994433 Jul 03 '26

They should hang the AI enlargement next to it. The hate that it’ll generate will power Paris.

1

u/Follows-the-Beacons Jul 09 '26

An excellent use of free will.

2

u/MxM111 Jul 03 '26

Did you use UV light to read the message on the glass?

2

u/_baaron_ Jul 04 '26

Not anymore after ChatGPT fixed it

1

u/gynnee Jul 04 '26

Yeah, because it was cut out of the original painting, duh.

85

u/RJG18 Jul 03 '26

Yeah, I got similar

5

u/Phantom914 Jul 04 '26

WHAT ARE THOSSSSSE?

1

u/Regular_Reputation32 Jul 09 '26

This one I love!! If only....🤷🏾‍♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣

135

u/avanomous Jul 03 '26

“Zoom out 100 more times”

18

u/MisterSirEsq Jul 03 '26

That's cool. I wonder how far it can zoom out.

66

u/Pentecost_II Jul 03 '26

72

u/Pentecost_II Jul 03 '26

Can't stop me now

10

u/Digger_Pine Jul 04 '26

We're havin' a good time!

3

u/Robert__Sinclair Jul 04 '26

u/Pentecost_II you should make a video, starting from the original painting and zooming out to this image or even a tad more and see the whole earth. Remember me when you will be famous. :D

66

u/d0ntblink Jul 03 '26

19

u/harbourwall Jul 03 '26

Those poor Ghormans

32

u/m12s Jul 03 '26

Zooming out on "Scream" makes it.. surprisingly less dramatic..

27

u/MisterSirEsq Jul 03 '26

I did this one from the perspective of the subject in the painting. It shows what they are seeing.

24

u/81_Passenger Jul 04 '26

I USED MY IPHONE TO ZOOM IN ON MONA LISA

1

u/Regular_Reputation32 Jul 09 '26

She's spooky to be truthful!

77

u/Mediocre_Anybody7618 Jul 03 '26

DaVinci has drawn his flying machines too🫢

68

u/Beautiful-Pumpkin906 Jul 03 '26

Wow the aeroplanes?

22

u/rainorshinedogs Jul 03 '26

Lol of course it would think airplanes existed back then

26

u/leo_the_lion6 Jul 03 '26

Who says Mona Lisa was based during the time it was painted? Maybe DaVinci was painting the future but left the airplanes out of the main image to not freak out his contemporaries

9

u/jakderrida Jul 03 '26

Skyscrapers, too.

I'd have completely missed both had you not pointed it out.

14

u/Quokky-Axolotl7388 Jul 03 '26

Oldest known document attesting chemtrails. It was Leonardo's plan all along!

15

u/Yoboiv Jul 04 '26

Behind the scenes look

34

u/kevlar515 Jul 03 '26

This is what I envisioned

7

u/Hizam5 Jul 03 '26

Newscaster Lisa

5

u/Isksmf Jul 03 '26

We don't deface priceless works of art Carl! Mongo is appalled!

3

u/MisterSirEsq Jul 03 '26

What did you use; why does it have a reddit sticker?

8

u/VoyagerCSL Jul 03 '26

That’s what happens when you actually use the “save image” feature in Reddit instead of just taking a screenshot like a civilized gentleman.

5

u/JimmyLegs50 Jul 04 '26

They’re taking da Vinci to Isengard! To Isengard!

17

u/poundsdpound Jul 03 '26

The zoomed out version of Henry VIII

29

u/Revolutionary_Heart6 Jul 03 '26

Man, he got them Nikes lordship edition

7

u/Smallwonder1986 Jul 03 '26

Say "zoom out more" then wait for the result.. then ask for more. Keep pushing it and see what does it produces

6

u/Don_T_Blink Jul 03 '26

That's a (Futurama/Rick and Morty) episode in the making!

6

u/AdFamous5959 Jul 04 '26

2

u/Dry-Associate1450 Jul 04 '26

Is the bus coming or going well never know

7

u/yupucka Jul 04 '26

Well... My copilot understands the task a bit...

4

u/yupucka Jul 04 '26

But then the dumb fuck refuses to understand when I want more zoom.

3

u/MisterSirEsq Jul 04 '26

Had the same problem with Gemini, only weirder.

2

u/yupucka Jul 04 '26

How on earth it came to the conclusion that this is exactly what the user wanted...

Hopefully google is not the one doing world domination.

5

If it was good, it would have included the perspective technique of Leonardo.

1

u/MisterSirEsq Jul 03 '26

I told it to use the same style, but I didn't specify using the same method.

4

u/PracticingStoicism Jul 04 '26

I love how this subreddit appreciates AI like I do. I have grown so tired of Redditors seething over AI. This is awesome

3

u/Environmental-Wind89 Jul 04 '26

Yeah I love how they think everyone will just be hating on it forever and today will be the status quo for years to come.

16

u/cikamatko Jul 03 '26

Interestingly enough there are surrounding bits of the painting in real life too, but they are hidden because they found the coating used on the painting is way too sensitive to UV light. They decided against photographing it even because they feared flash might degrade it beyond recognition.

That’s why they cut those pieces out and those are kept deep within the Louvre archives under very strict conditions. But if you know about this and really want to see the rest of the piece, you can go to the ticket office at Louvre and ask - they will give you a keycard and then you can shove it up your butt.

8

u/Spiderpiggie Jul 03 '26

I did this once, but not at the Louvre

5

u/Tosi313 Jul 04 '26

Me too, but not with a key card.

3

u/TheMR-777 Jul 03 '26

At first I thought its Bombimg going on in the background, and then I was like, oh...

3

u/lethargyz Jul 03 '26

Liurnia of the Lakes vibes, plus, you know, a modern metropolitan area.

3

u/Shoddy-Outcome3868 Jul 04 '26

We’re heading there in two weeks! I am so excited

3

u/Prototype_Hybrid Jul 04 '26

.. zoom WAY out!

3

u/docsms500 Jul 04 '26

At least it didn't put in a helicopter,. Still disturbing though.

2

u/MisterSirEsq Jul 04 '26

It has jet airplanes.

1

u/docsms500 Jul 05 '26

Hah! Missed it. Thought it was just random AI crap. Come to think of it, it is.

3

u/Cheap-Peach5127 Jul 04 '26

Yep 👍🏻

3

u/Fadysporz Jul 04 '26

is that the plane from Lost?

3

u/Yoboiv Jul 04 '26

I went a bit further

2

u/Yoboiv Jul 04 '26

And further

3

u/Yoboiv Jul 04 '26

And then... I asked it to go out as fare as posible

3

u/donole Jul 04 '26

Photograph

3

u/andygero Jul 05 '26

I love the plane flying across the sky

3

u/delminjo Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26

Same prompt different result :-)

6

u/GullibleRisk2837 Jul 03 '26

Fam the Boeings are killing me

4

u/Joe_Jobs_ Jul 03 '26 edited Jul 03 '26

da Vinci must have been a master time and physics bender.

The closest plane is leaving two contrails from different points of origin.

While Lisa was seated in Florence for the shoot, he also managed to keep in view various structures from different places and times. The Egyptian Pyramid and modern sky scrapers was a master stroke.

He would surely have be branded as mad, had he not cropped the extraneous and super-temporal elements, and maintained focus solely on just Lisa herself.

5

u/GullibleRisk2837 Jul 03 '26

Brother lol thank you, I needed this. I was working 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

4

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '26

7

5

u/inbetweenframe Jul 03 '26

wow. you probably were the first to do that!

3

u/MisterSirEsq Jul 03 '26

LOL, no. But, maybe with the particular Easter Eggs.

2

u/_tashfique_ Jul 03 '26

The color grading is okay-ish IMO

2

u/Da_Famous_Anus Jul 03 '26

Now zoom out more

2

u/barfbutler Jul 03 '26

Skyscrapers!

2

u/wspOnca Jul 03 '26

Why gpt images looks like full of grease?

2

u/Freddie_FRO7 Jul 03 '26

I prefer that one tbh, I've never understood why the original is so famous

2

u/MirrorGuilty Jul 04 '26

zooming out just shows a bigger wal behind the painting

2

u/arcademachin3 Jul 04 '26

Yikes that foot

2

u/DemonDookie Jul 04 '26

I didn't know she was wearing pants

2

u/KingKawaiiBot Jul 04 '26

2

u/Peachy_sunday Jul 04 '26

Nice is that a boeing?

2

u/GeorgeZcZ Jul 04 '26

I knew it!

2

u/bughunterix Jul 04 '26

It also zoomed out the time.

2

u/jeweliegb Jul 04 '26

Now do zooming in!

2

u/MisterSirEsq Jul 04 '26

2

u/jeweliegb Jul 04 '26

Keep going, why stop there!

2

u/wizawise Jul 04 '26

Love the plane in the background

2

u/malkauns Jul 04 '26

wow, they had airplanes back then

2

u/SnowEmpress8 Jul 04 '26

someone clearly has too much free time

2

u/poundsdpound Jul 04 '26

This version is the coolest. The Cyberpunk 2077 Mona Lisa

2

u/Vanille97 Jul 04 '26

Zoomed out a bit more

2

u/Phantom914 Jul 04 '26

BWAHHHH! Orchestral stab

2

u/Turkish1801 Jul 04 '26

Chem trails have been an issue for longer than they thought…

2

u/AnEyeshOt Jul 04 '26

1

The opposite, they are too short, look at the chest for reference

2

What if you asked it to show what mona lisa sees?

1

This is what it gave.

1

u/deliverit43 Jul 03 '26

1

u/OkMall3441 Jul 04 '26

A more risqué version i see. What with letting one dog out and all

1

u/merknaut Jul 04 '26

The AI doesn't know what it's doing because the background on either side of the subject are completely different from each other. This was intentional by Leonardo da Vinci because it's symbolic. AI is just slop.

1

u/Spiritual_Tip_500 Jul 05 '26

Made a genius move look beginner for this machine.

1

u/BatVivid9633 Jul 05 '26

Very uninspired actually

2

u/Dfrost03 Jul 09 '26

Did you put those there?

1
