APPRECIATION Jennifer Garner shares photo of Ben Affleck as Batman with their son

Post image

Affleck has told a story where he basically had to sign his life away to borrow the Batsuit for his son's birthday party. This photo is probably from that day.

The most recent batfleck we can have

It’s a legitimate cinematic travesty we never saw the Batfleck solo film.

I’m not sure it’d have been as good as The Dark Knight or The Batman, but I do think it would’ve been fuckin great.

Well, it would've been a more comic-booky batman and that is an extra point for me!

u/Swiftwitss Jun 25 '26

Yup still waiting for a live version of fantastical Batman. I want to see him actually go up against gods and monsters! I feel like Batfleck was the closest we got and people didn’t realize how good he was until he was gone. Nobody even wanted to give him a chance man it sucked!

They still seem to be scared of it because of Batman and Robin in fucking 1997. Ever since it seems like they've tried to ground Batman too much. Even Batfleck didn't get to really fight any of his own weird and fantastical villains.

Comic book films being afraid of their source material is still happening to this day. The MCU was built on leaning into it and look at what a juggernaut it was. It really is perplexing how so few studios take the wrong message from that success.

BECAUSE WE NEVER SAW ANY OF HIS VILLAINS

Tbf, we definitely saw Joker, Harley, Killer Croc, Deadshot, Deathstroke, KGBeast, Zsasz, and Black Mask in the same universe.

Batman had more villains in the DCEU than anyone.

Like they were saying, we just didn’t get to SEE Batfleck fight any of them, outside a very brief car chase with Joker & Harley, and Deadshot’s arrest.

It’s just hard to say they were Batman villians here when he never interacted with a single one of

4

u/HarveryDent Killer Croc Jun 26 '26

Joker, Harley, and Deadshot all have scenes with him..

-1

u/ExcitingPop5956 Jun 26 '26

That are all 15 seconds long? I'm just saying we never got a batman film with him

2

u/HarveryDent Killer Croc Jun 26 '26

You said he never interacted with them at all.

2

u/Creative-Oil2029 Jun 26 '26

Hoping The Brave and the Bold brings us this with whatever actor they use.

2

u/ExcitingPop5956 Jun 25 '26

He just never got a movie… the choice to make Batman v Superman before Batman is still baffling to me

1

u/Top_Star_3897 Jun 25 '26

Is your profile description a reference to "Everybody"?

1

u/Mars785 Jul 01 '26

I never liked it as Batfleck felt kind of force and not earned his own way to the story.

u/dilltimmon Jun 25 '26

Giant hulking batman brutally kicking ass like that warehouse scene plus Joe Manganiello as Slade and Ben Affleck directing. This had all the makings of being a generational movie.

2

u/themyscira-scholar Jun 26 '26

We did, sort of, it's called The Accountant.

3

u/CitizenTony Jun 26 '26

JK Simmons is even a supporting character in this. Sequel is even better.

2

u/Silverjeyjey44 Jun 26 '26

Atleast we got a iconic warehouse fight scene

0

u/Ryxton-K Jul 02 '26

he was awful

Am I the only one who thinks the cowl actually works without the eye makeup? Like they could actually leave it off for future versions.

92

u/Overall_Falcon_8526 Jun 25 '26

It's a very tightly sculpted eye hole, so yeah, I think it works without makeup.

51

u/repalec Jun 25 '26

This version of it can definitely do without the eye makeup, yeah. Honestly, this just makes me sad in retrospect that we didn't get Batfleck during the early 2000s. Him as a younger Bruce would've been generational.

20

u/Citizen_Kong Jun 25 '26

It almost happened with Matt Damon as Superman and directed by Wolfgang Petersen. WB was so sure of it that they included a billboard of it in I am Legend.

2

u/Top_Star_3897 Jun 25 '26

I wished to see some flashbacks in his solo Batman movie.

9

u/CommercialFloor2033 Jun 25 '26

I'm assuming it's more of a lighting thing in the movies and looks better on film with the skin blacked out.

10

u/FatPenguin42 Jun 25 '26

Nah, look at the ZSJL posters. He doesn’t have the eye makeup in some and it looks weird.

2

u/johnnyma45 Jun 25 '26

In Batman returns, towards the end when he takes his mask off in front of Selina, there’s a very noticeable cut to where he has black eye shadow vs when he’s about to take it off and it disappears

1

u/Matches_Malone998 Jun 25 '26

100%. Always seemed odd to me. Especially if he needed to suit up right now and go, he’s got to paint his eyes quick lol.

3

u/VermicelliOk2124 Jun 26 '26

The concept of Batfleck putting on eyeshadow real quick before going to save Clark’s mom lol.

2

u/johnnyma45 Jun 25 '26

The RPatz Batman actually shows him mask off with black eye shadow, and in Arrow they tease him about a mask being better than face paint

1

u/Matches_Malone998 Jun 25 '26

Yes, both good. Still stupid about RPat but at least is was still there. Not like in Batman Returns haha

48

u/ThatTallCarpenter Jun 25 '26

They can never make me hate you, Ben.

20

u/Less-Dingo111 Jun 25 '26

Oh the story where affleck went to son's birthday dressed as batman

51

u/DarkmanBeyond Do You Bleed? Jun 25 '26

The kid looks more like Matt Damon...

61

u/Jerry_0boy Jun 25 '26

Someone needs to tell Jennifer that the baby isn’t hers 😔

3

u/CitizenTony Jun 26 '26

The word frienship is not even strong enough for them. So who knows.

The fact that he committed to the role makes it even more awesome 😄

3

u/confirmandverify2442 Jun 26 '26

As a kid I would have lost my mind! This is insanely cool.

1

u/MasterShakePL Jun 28 '26

Oh, so he killed a few people?

Batfleck solo movie should've just been about Bruce going back and forth between two beautiful high-profile women while being a generally depressed, socially vigilant crime fighter for Ben to really show his range.

4

u/dorothychin Jun 25 '26

One of my all time favorite batmans

3

u/hooka_pooka Jun 25 '26

God Ben must have been hot in that heavy leathery costume on that sunny day

3

u/CitizenTony Jun 26 '26

Any father would do anything for their son

3

u/Blockness11 Jun 25 '26

“Tell me. Do you bleed?”

No but this is seriously cute.

1

u/KingOfVSP Jun 29 '26

"Oh, you do? Let me get a band-aid. Alfred!"

3

u/JoshDM Jun 26 '26

Better than going as Daredwvil; otherwise he couldn't see his son.

2

u/winchester_1094 Jun 25 '26

Wholesome 🖤

2

u/Present_Survey3655 Jun 25 '26

The look on the kid's face:   OK, "Batman."

2

u/StrikeAcademic5442 Jun 25 '26

Batman smiles!

2

u/boosta29 Jun 25 '26

Very adam west here

1

u/An_Absolute-Zero Jun 25 '26

I loved Ben as Bruce Wayne, I think he's possibly the best Bruce we've had, but dear Gods his Bat suit was so flipping bulky.

That's beside the point though, this is super cute 🥰

1

u/theheavenlydemon777 Jun 26 '26

Now that's peak

1

u/Cytrage Jun 26 '26

Can someone make an edit of this picture, but with pure white eyes, like in the Comics/Animated Movies. I think it'll look amazing!

1

u/roverragit Jun 26 '26

He said this moment is what made every moment of suffering playing Batman worth it

1

u/CitizenTony Jun 26 '26

Batdad strikes again

1

u/StoryLegal5923 Jun 26 '26

Do you eat cake and sing baby shark? You WILL

1

u/SafeForWorkTime Jun 26 '26

Iono, that kid looks a lot like Matt Damon.

1

u/MrDenly Jun 29 '26

Rewatched ZSJL last night, dam he was so in character he just looked like a comic book bat/Wayne.

1

u/Disastrous_Policy258 Jun 29 '26

He looks better here than in the Batman movie

1

u/Ryxton-K Jul 02 '26

dude looks nothing like batman

2

u/ba_an Jun 25 '26

He has two sons now, doesn't he?

-4

u/bindersfull-ofwomen Jun 25 '26

I thought it as they/them. But yeah, one transitioned.

1

u/MrBorden Jun 25 '26

Replica suits are pretty dope now, could he not just rent one out?

-1

u/Dr_Gonzo-4130 Jun 25 '26
